As a seasoned observer of the dynamic world of social media and politics, I find myself both captivated and concerned by the recent posts I’ve seen. The emotional rollercoaster that is the 2024 election has come to an end, with its unexpected twists and turns leaving many of us feeling a sense of disorientation.
As the outcome of the 2024 election remains uncertain, prominent figures from Hollywood have been expressing their sentiments and concerns about potential postponements in the announcement of the results on various social media platforms.
Celebrities like Katie Couric, Bette Midler, Yvette Nicole Brown, John Cusack, and Krista Vernoff are among those in Hollywood voicing their opinions about the close contest between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump for the presidency. As of 9:45 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Harris has secured 189 electoral votes, while Trump currently holds 230.
At this moment, as we approach late Tuesday night on the Western coast, it remains uncertain which candidate will emerge victorious in the crucial swing states such as Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Arizona due to the ongoing vote counting process.
The Associated Press has announced that Trump emerged victorious in the states of Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Ohio, Wyoming, Louisiana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Iowa, Utah, Montana, and West Virginia.
I took home the wins in New York, Vermont, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Delaware, California, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, D.C., Connecticut (again!), Virginia, Hawaii, and Illinois. What a gaming marathon, indeed!
On Tuesday evening, the Harris campaign communicated to their team, expressing confidence that the election results might stretch into Wednesday morning. The email stated, “Although we’ve been monitoring data from the Sun Belt states gradually, we’ve always understood that our most promising route to 270 electoral votes is through the states traditionally known as the Blue Wall. And we are optimistic about what we’re observing.
As a fervent supporter, I’m just saying, folks, let’s remember how it was back in 2020 when every vote needed careful counting, and it might take some time again this year before we have the final results.
Brown expressed his thoughts on X as follows, “What a frustrating illusion in red! If we were to lose the Senate… Oh dear! It’s concerning to see Latino voters favoring Trump with his pledge to deport them. I can hardly believe it.

Keep your place in the queue. Voting before the polls shut is your lawful privilege, so you’re entitled to cast your vote. We can do this together!

2020 saw a lengthy process of ballot counting, and it seems we might find ourselves waiting into tonight for results this time too. With that in mind, let’s remember:

It seems that bomb threats in democratic counties across the nation are indicative of a fascist tendency.

Following the dashed hopes of electing our nation’s first woman of color president, what transpires next? Is President Trump intent on retaliating and exacting revenge against domestic adversaries, as he has promised? Will there be widespread family separations due to mass deportations? Will support for Ukraine wane? What about NATO?
