Dragon Age: The Veilguard - How To Fix the Tattered Bridge in Arlathan

As an ardent Dragon Age fan with countless hours spent navigating the richly detailed landscapes of Thedas, I can confidently say that the Tattered Bridge in Arlathan Forest ranks among the most intriguing and challenging relics to uncover.

Fragments of elven lore can be found throughout Dragon Age: The Veilguard, with each fragment hiding a unique tale in the most unanticipated locations.

In the mystical Arlathan Forest, one of the relics I encountered was the crumbling Tattered Bridge. Once, this structure was a beacon of unity in the long-lost city of Arlathan. Here’s what I did to restore it:

Arlathan Forest is huge and can be tricky to get through without shortcuts.

Fixing the Tattered Bridge is key to a smoother journey and earns valuable rewards.

Speak with Harding to start the “An Unfamiliar Sense” quest, and this will grant you access to Arlathan Forest through a reflective gateway located at the Crossroads by using a portal mirror.

As soon as you enter Arlathan Forest, head towards the southwest direction. You’ll come across a ladder secured by a lock and some barrels filled with explosives.

Employ a long-range weapon to break open the lock and detonate the barrels. This action will create an opening in the wall, providing direct access to the Tattered Bridge region.

To find D’Meta’s Crossing, head northwards from the beach on foot, following the coastline until you spot a boat. Hop aboard this boat and it will take you to D’Meta’s Crossing. Once there, look for some stairs located to the western side of your position. Climb these stairs when you find them.

The riddle commences once you find the bridge, as it’s marked by a fast-travel beacon in one of its corners. (You need to head north until you reach this location.)

Collect a blue crystal from the western end to deactivate the blue barrier before you.

This crystal triggers the nodes around the area, changing the paths you have to travel.

Place the blue crystal into the first power node on the bridge’s left side.

Performing this action will establish a route that ends at a projector. This projector makes sure the light rays strike the correct locations to activate the bridge.

Point the projector towards the path, reaching a node on a floating rock platform, to initiate the following part of the bridge.

Head to the bridge, grab the crystal where it’s resting, then place it on another spot close to the southeastern end of the bridge.

This will form a ramp leading to the south floating platform, letting you climb up.

Once on the platform, knock over a wooden post to create a bridge for later use.

Head down to the lower level to grab the crystal. After picking it up, make your way back to the starting point to remove the ramp and open up the location.

As a gamer, I’ve got to head back to the bridge entrance now. There you’ll find some crates stacked on my left side. Once I push past them, it should open up a fresh path that loops me back to the floating platform.

Here, you’ll find the second projector. Aim the beam towards the node located at the back of the zip line linking the western and central parts of the bridge.

Currently, the bridge is almost fully linked together. On the western edge, you’ll spot a treasure chest and an entrance obstructed by a barricade of blue color.

To disable the barrier here, you should find another light-blue gemstone from this location. Walk through the nearby entrance to grab the second gemstone, and afterwards, place it onto the energy socket located in the south-eastern corner.

After completing this final action, the bridge will be repaired, and you’ll receive a message notifying you that the Tattered Bridge Shortcut has now been accessible.

Using this shortcut significantly reduces your travel time in the Arlathan Forest. Finishing the bridge not only grants you access to extra loot, such as a precious treasure chest, but it may also set off the side quest known as “The Magic of the Ancients“.
