Janhvi Kapoor reviews Citadel: Honey Bunny, calls it ‘riveting show’; Varun Dhawan’s love-filled response has a Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari connection

As an ardent fan of Bollywood and a devoted follower of the dynamic duo, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, I find myself utterly enthralled by their recent digital dance on the screen. The spin-off of Citadel: Honey Bunny, masterfully crafted by Raj and DK, has undeniably become a global sensation, leaving me in a state of sheer amazement.

Debuting on November 6, 2024, the series titled “Citadel: Honey Bunny,” was developed by Raj and DK. Starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, it is a spin-off of the American spy series Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. Janhvi Kapoor recently reviewed “Citadel: Honey Bunny” and labeled it as an ‘engrossing program.’ Varun’s heartfelt reaction to it shares a resemblance with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari‘s style.

Just a short while ago, on November 13 (Wednesday), Janhvi Kapoor expressed her appreciation for Citadel: Honey Bunny on Instagram. Specifically, she re-posted Amazon Prime Video’s update, asserting that the show has claimed the number one position among the most-viewed series globally.

As I followed along with the latest episode of Citadel: Honey Bunny, I couldn’t help but express my admiration for the incredible team behind this captivating series. In a post on social media, I tagged Varun and Samantha, acknowledging their remarkable contributions to our shared success. I wrote, “What an exhilarating show! It’s truly taking the world by storm, and I couldn’t be more thrilled…all of our hard work has certainly paid off with so much love.

Varun Dhawan reposted Janhvi’s Instagram story and showered love on the actress. Referring to their upcoming film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Varun presumably mentioned the initials of his Bawaal co-star. The Citadel star also dropped a sun and red heart emojis. His post read, “JK (Sunny loves) you.”

In the show Citadel: Honey Bunny, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu portray undercover spies named Bunny and Honey. Initially, Varun’s character, Rahi Gambhir, was a stuntman in Bollywood films, whereas Samantha’s character, Hanimandakini Raj, started out as an aspiring actress. Important roles are also played by Kay Kay Menon, Sikander Kher, and Saqib Saleem.

Varun and Samantha have been cast together as romantic leads in the show. Their roles depict them as parents to a character named Nadia Sinh, who was previously portrayed by Priyanka Chopra in Citadel. The new series featuring this duo is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Currently, Varun Dhawan is teaming up again with Janhvi Kapoor for the movie “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” following their work together in the 2023 film “Bawaal” directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

In the spotlight, we have an upcoming Dharma production directed by Shashank Khaitan, known for his work in the Dulhania series. This movie features Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Manoj Joshi, Akshay Oberoi, and more talented actors. Set to premiere on April 18, 2025, this highly-anticipated film will also star Varun and Janhvi.
