Diljit Dosanjh gets legal notice from Telangana government ahead of Hyderabad show; ‘No songs promoting…’

As a seasoned lifestyle enthusiast with a penchant for music and events, I must say that it’s always intriguing to witness the intersection of art and regulation. The recent notice issued to Diljit Dosanjh ahead of his concert in Hyderabad is one such instance.

Before Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil0Luminati concert in Hyderabad on November 15, 2024, the Telangana government has warned the singer and organizers that they should refrain from performing songs with themes of alcohol, drugs, and violence during the event.

The concert is one stop on Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dil-Luminati” tour, visiting ten cities throughout India. As reported by PTI, this directive was issued by the District Officer of Women and Children, Disabled, and Senior Citizens Welfare in Rangareddy, after a complaint from someone residing in Chandigarh.

The notice specifically prohibits Dosanjh from performing songs that promote substance abuse, violence, or drugs at his live performance in Cyberabad on November 15.

Furthermore, the performer is prohibited from featuring children on stage at this performance. Moreover, it was emphasized that excessive noise and bright lighting might pose potential risks for young attendees at the show.

The notice included video evidence and mentioned that Diljit had previously performed songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence during a concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi in October 2024.

During that time, Diljit shared a video on his social networks depicting his entry into the city, which included stops at iconic landmarks like Charminar, as well as visits to a temple and a Sikh place of worship (Gurudwara) for prayer.

For his Dil-Luminati tour across India, Diljit is scheduled to perform in ten cities, which include Mumbai, Kolkata, Indore, Pune, and Guwahati. His tour began with a large concert in Delhi, followed by Jaipur. The Delhi performance drew over 35,000 spectators on just one day.

During the Jaipur gathering, Diljit offered an apology to the audience concerning a ticket fraud incident. He expressed remorse towards those impacted by the scam, saying, “To anyone who has been unfortunate enough to be affected by the ticketing scam, I extend my sincere apologies. It wasn’t us who did this; the authorities are currently looking into the situation.

Additionally, he cautioned fans against getting entangled with individuals who might be part of a fraudulent scheme related to ticket sales. Given the high demand for concert tickets, many were quickly snapped up, resulting in unscrupulous resellers raising prices excessively and, unfortunately, some even peddling counterfeit ones.

The last performance of Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour is set for December 29, 2024, in Guwahati. In his professional endeavors, Dosanjh has upcoming projects like No Entry 2 and Border 2.
