Pro-bitcoin Matt Gaetz nominated as U.S. Attorney General

As a seasoned crypto investor with a keen interest in politics, I find Matt Gaetz’s nomination as Attorney General under President-elect Donald Trump intriguing. His pro-bitcoin stance and advocacy for crypto deregulations are music to my ears.

Matt Gaetz, a Florida congressman and attorney, has been chosen by President-elect Donald Trump for the position of Attorney General. This selection is based on Gaetz’s academic background and legal career experience.

The President-elect, Donald Trump, tapped Representative Matt Gaetz, a supporter of Bitcoin from Florida, for the position of the upcoming U.S. Attorney General.

Following this nomination, he resigned from the House of Representative on Nov. 13, 2024.

As stated in the November 13 article, Trump lauded Gaetz as a tenacious lawyer who is dedicated to implementing necessary changes within the Department of Justice.

Gaetz anticipates focusing on disarming the government used as a weapon, enhancing border security, breaking down criminal networks, unveiling possibilities of government corruption, and curbing government weaponization.

Matt Gaetz advocates strongly for the constitution and the legal system. He aims to expose and eliminate deep-seated corruption within the Department of Justice, restoring it to its original purpose of combating criminal activity, safeguarding our democratic values, and protecting the constitution.

As the newly appointed Head of the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E), I took a moment to extend my warm congratulations to Representative Gaetz on his recent appointment in a post on my platform (X).

Matt Gaetz stances on crypto

This year, on June 25th, I, as a congressional representative, put forth a proposal advocating for the acceptance of Bitcoin as a means of payment for federal income taxes by U.S. citizens. This bill was inspired by my recent visit to El Salvador and is intended to modernize our tax system by embracing digital currencies.

Making this bold step will “encourage inventiveness, enhance productivity, and provide greater adaptability for U.S. residents.

The plan aims to modify the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, allowing Bitcoin to be used as a method for paying taxes and potentially extending this payment option to various other federal services.

Gaetz is also pushing for less regulation in the field of cryptocurrency, and he’s expressing concerns about excessive government oversight. He believes that such measures could hinder innovation and economic expansion.

Under President Trump’s administration, his appointment as Attorney General could suggest a shift towards more adaptable law enforcement methods and lenient regulations in the cryptocurrency sector, potentially opening up new avenues for its management.
