As a long-time fan who’s been following Stephen Amell‘s career since his days as Green Arrow on Arrow, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness every time he shaves off that magnificent beard. It’s like losing a dear friend, albeit one with facial hair. I mean, honestly, who doesn’t love a good bearded superhero?
As the 2024 TV schedule comes to an end, we’re eagerly anticipating the lineup for 2025, which features a fresh Suits spinoff series. Last year, it was revealed that creator Aaron Korsh was working on a new show set in the same universe as the USA Network legal drama, following its surge in popularity on Netflix. The upcoming Suits: L.A. spinoff, starring Stephen Amell, has already been greenlit by NBC this year. Amell began filming recently with a clean-shaven look, and I must admit, I miss his beard.
This week, Patrick J. Adams announced on Instagram that the filming of ‘Suits: L.A.’ had begun. The star’s appearance caught my attention since he hadn’t acted in a while and decided to let his facial hair grow during his break. I was hoping he would maintain this look for the new ‘Suits’ series, but his video suggests otherwise as his face appeared clean-shaven. You can check out his post to see what Ted Black will look like in the upcoming series.

Previously this year, the Heels alum had to trim both his beard and mustache for the Suits: L.A. pilot shoot. However, afterwards, he regrew some facial hair. It was assumed that he’d need to shave again, but now that he has, I find myself yearning for his beard once more.
It seems reasonable to think that, given my fondness for Stephen Amell’s beard, anyone in the same boat as me should simply be content because filming on his latest series has at last begun. On top of that, he’s been treating fans with some delightful behind-the-scenes glimpses on social media.

Initially, the pilot episode for “Suits: L.A.” premiered during the summer months, featuring Stephen Amell portraying Ted Black, a previous New York federal prosecutor. In this series, Ted undergoes a transformation, managing high-profile clients in Los Angeles. His law firm is facing critical difficulties and to keep it afloat, he must accept a position he had despised throughout his career. Reminiscent of Harvey Specter’s journey from the original show, Black’s experiences appear to be filled with intrigue.
Apart from the upcoming spinoff, Stephen Amell isn’t just confined to one project. As reported in October, he has been cast in the upcoming crime drama “Underbelly,” scheduled for Canada’s streaming service Crave. This six-part series is set in the 1000 Islands region and Amell is not only acting but also serving as an executive producer. With such a busy schedule, I can’t help but wonder if we might see Stephen Amell’s beard grown out again sometime soon.
For the television series “Suits: L.A.”, they’ve begun shooting, but as of now, no release date has been given. Fingers crossed, we might catch it in the first quarter of the upcoming year. Here’s hoping it lives up to the anticipation!
