As an analyst with over two decades of experience in the financial industry, I find myself both appalled and amused by this bizarre episode in the world of cryptocurrency. The actions of this 13-year-old boy, who goes by the moniker Gen Z Quant, are nothing short of astonishing. He has managed to navigate a complex system that is often beyond the grasp of adults, using it to his advantage and turning a profit of $2.4 million in a single day.
In simpler terms, a 13-year-old individual found himself exposed (doxxed) by cryptocurrency traders following an incident where he manipulated the price of a token called Gen Z Quant on a platform known as pump.fun. These traders then retaliated by revealing personal information about his entire family, turning them into tokens on the same platform.
13-year-old child finds himself in an unexpected twist within the crypto world. On November 20th, this anonymous child initiated a token called QUANT on pump.fun and saw its price surge by 260% just minutes following the launch.
Approximately an hour after, the boy swiftly sold off all his QUANT tokens, causing a shock to traders who had recently purchased the token. By artificially increasing the price and then liquidating all his holdings, the boy pocketed a substantial profit of $30,000.
Without further ado, he took his frustration out online, mockingly gesturing a middle finger at the traders who suffered losses due to QUANT’s rug-pull. He didn’t stop there; instead, he repeated the process by launching another token with the same name, ultimately cashing out for an additional $12,000 in profit after dumping it.
Following my initial foray, seasoned traders stepped in and propelled the token’s market capitalization to a staggering $70 million. The Gen Z Quant token I had playfully introduced as a jest is currently exchanging hands at $0.05571, as per DEX Screener. In the last six hours, it has skyrocketed by almost 50%, but in the past hour, it’s seen a downturn of 13%.
Despite the young man’s impressive transformation of his initial $30,000 cryptocurrency token into a staggering $2.4 million token, the broader crypto community refused to overlook his transgressions.
Initially, traders started exposing personal information about the boy’s relatives, finding his school, monitoring their social media profiles, and voicing their frustration over the money they had lost due to the boy’s actions of pulling the rug on an investment. Quickly following this, developers introduced new tokens under the name of the boy’s family members, displaying their photographs alongside them in a pump.fun scheme.
Tokens labeled as QUANT DAD, QUANT SIS, and QUANT MOM, as well as the token portraying the entire family, including the pet dog (ticker: CABAL), have been making rounds in various markets.
“Kid put his bloodline on the line,” one user pointed out.
They doxxed the entire $quant dev family
I love pumpfun

As an analyst, I’d rephrase that statement as follows: “A user on X stated, ‘They valued the project at $135 million, which could have potentially netted him 1.2 million. However, they also leaked his personal information such as name, address, and school. The community seems to be ruthless.’
One trader dubbed the boy “the future of finance,” while another reminded the community that this boy represents a messed up generation that has been “optimized to do that to people.”
