A Superhero Tribute
Actor Adrian Hough, known for voice acting Nightcrawler in the X-Men series, expressed his feelings about Dan Hennessey’s passing on X (previously Twitter). “This is truly unfortunate,” Hough penned down. “Farewell to Dan Hennessey, a significant figure not just in my journey within the X-Men universe, but also in the entire animated X-Men series. We all grieve.” Besides his role as director on the show, Hennessey also lent his voice to characters like Sunder, Ruckus, and Chrome, among others.
Hough’s comments were made in response to Abdullah Khan’s tribute post about X, where he highlighted that many fans appreciate the acting in the X-Men series, often crediting the director as a significant factor. This is one of the reasons the initial X-Men animated series remains popular today. Additionally, Khan shared a 20-second video clip of Hough discussing his audition for Nightcrawler and Hennessey’s response to it.
Hennessey leaves behind his wife, Patricia, as well as his two daughters, Skye and Eden. In lieu of flowers, they are requesting contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
