- Century Games, the developer behind Whiteout Survival, has just soft-launched a new strategy game
- Called Crown of Bones, it sees you step into the shoes (toe bones?) of a skeleton king
- Lead your army of skeletal minions, upgrade them and duke it out with mortals
As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for strategy games and a knack for finding hidden gems, I must say, Crown of Bones has piqued my interest. The idea of leading an army of skeletal minions under the command of a Skeleton King is just too intriguing to pass up!
It’s no wonder that, following the triumph of Whiteout Survival, Century Games is expanding their horizons. However, you might not have noticed their recent debut title, Crown of Bones, as it has stealthily started a soft launch in several areas, such as the US and Europe. As for its plot? That’s a whole different tale to unravel.
Based on the given information, Crown of Bones appears to be a strategy game that emphasizes a more relaxed playing style. In this game, players assume the role of a Skeleton King commanding an army of similarly skeletal warriors. The narrative unfolds as you traverse various landscapes, engaging in combat with adversaries. As progress is made, your skeletal force will be enhanced and you’ll encounter diverse environments ranging from fertile plains to barren deserts.
As a fan, I find that this game shares similarities with Whiteout Survival by Century Games, but it has a more family-friendly approach. The graphics are adorable and free from offensive content. It’s all about upgrades, collectibles, and progressing through increasingly challenging levels. What makes it even more exciting is the opportunity to compete against friends and other players worldwide on the leaderboards.
Zandri Dust anyone?
From my perspective as an avid gamer, there isn’t much to share about Crown of Bones at this stage, except that considering the triumph of Whiteout Survival, it seems plausible that it might draw inspiration from other strategy games in the market. Yet, I can hardly fault them for doing so, given the resounding success of their previous release, which presented a casual-friendly survival in the cold vein reminiscent of Frostpunk.
With further exploration into Crown of Bones, I suspect it will give us a clearer understanding of its position among their releases. Since Whiteout Survival was such a popular success, there’s a possibility that Crown of Bones may become their next breakout title.
