As a die-hard fan who has followed Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s cinematic journey since their days in “Ocean’s Eleven,” this recent turn of events regarding “Wolfs 2” has left me both baffled and disheartened. I was so looking forward to more high-octane adventures from the dynamic duo, especially after the success they achieved with “Wolfs.
Approximately two months ago, the dynamic duo Brad Pitt and George Clooney, known for their work in the “Ocean’s” trilogy, teamed up again for the action-comedy “Wolfs”. Originally slated for a wide cinematic release in 2024, it was instead given a limited run before being made available to Apple TV+ subscribers. Surprisingly, it became the most-watched movie on Apple TV+. Interestingly, even before “Wolfs” premiered, news broke that “Wolfs 2” was in development. Unfortunately, despite the success of “Wolfs”, there has been some unfavorable news regarding the sequel.
Jon Watts, known for directing the first three Spider-Man movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was initially set to direct “Wolfs 2”. However, recent updates suggest that he will no longer be returning as director. During an interview with Collider about the upcoming “Star Wars” TV show titled “Skeleton Crew”, which Watts co-created with Christopher Ford, Watts discussed “Wolfs 2” and mentioned that his involvement might not be happening as planned.
I don’t know what I’m directing next, and I don’t think there’s going to be a Wolfs sequel.

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but reflect on the fact that both Brad Pitt and George Clooney have been crowned Sexiest Man Alive. However, with the passage of time, they’ve earned a new title – the Wolves of Hollywood, if you will, but with a twist of humor that only age can bring. Let’s call it their Geriatric Glamour!
Instead of watching Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton receive a 17-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, I’d prefer to enjoy this amusing video of George Clooney and Brad Pitt dancing during a wolf’s applause.
It’s surprising to learn about this, given the success of Wolfs on Apple TV+ and its mixed critical reception with a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars from TopMob. One would expect that positive performance to encourage the production of Wolfs 2. However, if director Jon Watts indicates that the sequel is unlikely, it’s not a good sign for the project’s future. This doesn’t mean the sequel has been definitively canceled, but it certainly casts doubt on its prospects.
Warning: SPOILERS for Wolfs are ahead!
It’s unfortunate that the ending of “Wolfs” hinted at more adventures for Brad Pitt’s character (Margaret’s Man) and George Clooney’s character (Pam’s Man). The story revealed they were both working for the same person, who had been behind all the chaos, aiming to eliminate them. Although “Wolfs 2” was announced, it seems their future escapades will be left to our imagination as they apparently survived the ambush.
If Apple provides more information about the status of “Wolves 2” sometime soon, we’ll make sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, feel free to explore some top-rated Apple TV+ movies that are currently available for viewing, in case you’ve already watched “Wolves”.
