Gustaf Westman’s Signature Swirls Take Over Home in HEVEN’s Glass-Blown Objects

As a longtime admirer of Gustaf Westman’s vibrant and playful design aesthetics, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by his recent foray into New York City’s creative landscape. His latest collaboration with Home in HEVEN is a testament to the beauty that ensues when two distinct artistic visions converge.

Recently, designer Gustaf Westman from Stockholm has been frequently visiting New York City. Last month, he transformed KidSuper’s gallery space into a pop-up exhibit named “Gustaf Westman in New York“, displaying his colorful artworks and furniture designs, including the innovative 3D-printed Puzzle Shelf on a winding, pink-orange catwalk. Lately, he collaborated with Home in HEVEN, a design house based in New York, to introduce holiday-themed products inspired by Westman’s signature hues and shapes. They unveiled the collection at Home in HEVEN’s East Village storefront, and it is now available for purchase online in its entirety.

Westman shared with TopMob that this collaboration truly embodies the essence of teamwork. It brings together two unique artists and styles. Home in HEVEN has creatively incorporated my designs using my distinctive shapes and their own embellishments. The results range from plates, cups, wine glasses, and holiday ornaments, all characterized by the cheerful pastel color scheme that Westman is famous for. Notable pieces include the Chunky Vase Stripe, featuring a bulky glass vase inside a tubular saucer, and the Spiral Ornament, an hand-blown orb adorned with a vibrant pink stripe. Elsewhere, Westman’s iconic swirls dominate chunky plates, blop cups, and Saturn-inspired ornaments that can also serve as delicate bag charms, as showcased on the designer’s Instagram.

“16 new limited objects! All handblown in Seattle,” he wrote on social media with a smiley face.
