A Voice Contestant Sang 'Fancy' In Front Of Reba McEntire, And The Country Queen Had The Most ‘Reba’ Reason Ever For Doing It Differently

As a seasoned gamer of reality TV competitions, I must say that this year’s The Voice has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. With Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire at the helm, the show has taken a delightful twist, bringing in unexpected collaborations like Olympic gymnast Simone Biles as an advisor.

Spoiler alert! This story reveals some of the results from Team Snoop and Team Reba’s Playoff performances that aired November 25. Episodes can be streamed with a Peacock subscription if you missed it.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled that “The Voice” Season 26 is still going strong in the 2024 TV lineup! On Monday nights, we’ll see Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire’s teams strut their stuff. The coaches didn’t leave their teams high and dry; they enlisted advisors to help guide them through this musical journey. What caught my attention was when Snoop chose Olympic gymnast Simone Biles as his advisor, a decision that left me scratching my head initially. But the real jaw-dropper came when he tasked one of his team members with performing “Fancy” right in front of Reba McEntire! And let me tell you, the Queen of Country didn’t disappoint with her classic reaction to the performance.

Previously, Gwen Stefani had to narrow down her five artists for the upcoming live shows to only two. Prior to doing so, Snoop Dogg’s team was tested with songs from artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, and Reba McEntire. Christina Eagle took on “Fancy,” adding her unique style and a bit of playful hip-shaking, which earned her a standing ovation from Reba McEntire, who praised her performance enthusiastically.

Incredible, indeed! Oh my goodness, your transformation was brilliant! The way you rearranged it is simply amazing. Your dance moves were exceptional and your passion for it really showed. Fantastic work, truly fantastic!

Michael Bublé playfully asked if Reba McEntire too performed “the trendy move” while singing that song on stage, to which she responded in a characteristically Reba fashion.

No, no, I get a catch in my get-along if I do that. Can’t do it.

It seems I don’t reside in the region where one encounters a “surprise along the way” – or perhaps this is just a unique phrase used by Reba McEntire, similar to her reference to Sir Mix-a-Lot with “Oh my god Becky.” Regardless, it was something new to me. The other Voice coaches also appeared surprised, and Reba reinforced this by repeating the phrase.

I’m telling you, sexy meemaw can’t do that no more.

Previously, Michael Bublé’s performances on The Voice had been my favorite highlights of the season, especially his clever use of Titanic and other film narratives to win over the artists. However, nothing can compare to the moment when Reba McEntire called herself “sexy meemaw.” That’s a memory I won’t forget anytime soon!

Ultimately, Christina Eagle’s rendition of “Fancy” emerged victorious, earning her a spot in the Live Semifinals alongside one other singer selected by Snoop Dogg. You can watch her triumphant performance here:

Hey there! I’ve got a feeling that Reba McEntire’s still got some moves up her sleeve – or something like that. Anyways, the tough part is behind her and most of the coaches on The Voice now, with only Michael Bublé remaining to choose his finalists. Don’t miss out as we reveal the Top 8 at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, November 26, on NBC.
