As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for international media trends, this latest collaboration between France’s Newen Studios, TF1 Group, and Netflix is nothing short of exhilarating! Having grown up in the age of streaming wars and the digital revolution, I’ve witnessed the transformation of content consumption firsthand. The idea of a daily drama series co-produced by these giants, available on both traditional and streaming platforms, is a testament to the evolving landscape of media.
Through a recent agreement, Newen Studios from France and the free-to-air broadcaster, TF1 Group, are teaming up with Netflix to jointly produce France’s very first daily drama series that will be streamed on Netflix.
Next year, the family series titled “Tout Pour La Lumière” (All for Light), which is set in the realm of music and dance, will commence filming. It will premiere on Netflix five days ahead of its free-to-air broadcast on TF1 and the VOD platform TF1+.
In this project, Newen is not only responsible for its production but also co-financing it. The screenplay for Tout Pour La Lumière was jointly penned by Coline Assous, Yentl Coubes, and Maxime Cormier. This series will be produced by Céline François and supervised by Stéphanie Brémond, who holds the position of Deputy General Director for ongoing drama and lengthy series at Newen Studios. Filming for this production will occur on-site in the Mediterranean town of La Ciotat, with additional studio sets established at La Belle de Mai in Marseille.
