As a lifestyle expert with a deep-rooted love for Bollywood and its rich tapestry of stories, I must say that 2 States stands out as one of the most memorable films of recent times. The intercultural romance set against the vibrant backdrop of engineering colleges and the ensuing family drama has struck a chord with millions, myself included.
2 States, featuring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is one of Bollywood’s most cherished movies. Its timeless soundtrack and engaging storyline set against an intercultural backdrop have left a lasting impression on viewers. Interestingly, it was recently disclosed that the captivating dream wedding scene in the film was filmed at Madh Island.
During a chat with Mashable India, Arjun Kapoor shared some insights about the memorable wedding scene in 2 States. He mentioned that after the movie’s release, many people would approach them asking where the real temple could be found. It was then he disclosed that the temple depicted wasn’t an actual one but a specially designed set located on Madh Island.
In a refreshing recollection, Singham Again recalled filming for four consecutive days on-site. He went on to express his awe at the process of bringing cinema to life with the right team of professionals, specifically mentioning director Abhishek Varman, cinematographer Binod Pradhan, and production designer Amrita Mahal.
Beyond confirming this, he also acknowledged that the movie’s music enhanced the enigmatic atmosphere surrounding the fairy-tale wedding. He humorously added, “This dream wedding was unfolding on Madh Island.
Arjun went on to note that the song “Mast Magan” has managed to cross multiple generations, and he felt the movie continues to hold up over time. He shared his observation that many people connect with the film, particularly engineering students and those associated with IIM (Indian Institutes of Management), who often found their partners during college years.
The performer emphasized the challenges faced in relationships, not only due to family issues, but also because of their long-distance aspects and financial concerns.
Arjun acknowledged Varman for perceiving him as a “geeky Krish,” implying that his acting path before “2 States” was set on producing intense, brooding, and emotionally charged films. He further disclosed that he identified strongly with the character at the time, and there were many similarities between himself and the role, except for education, jokingly added.
Arjun Kapoor will be next seen in No Entry 2.
