As a seasoned gamer of suspenseful tales and gripping mysteries, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming limited series based on Harlan Coben’s novel “I Will Find You”. Having grown up with the thrill of his trademark twists, dramatic cliffhangers, and compelling mysteries, this announcement feels like a dream come true.
Netflix and author Harlan Coben are going back into business.
The streamer has given approval to a limited series, derived from Harlan Coben’s novel “I Will Find You”. This drama represents the latest creation under the overall agreement that Netflix secured with the renowned author in 2018. Notably, it marks the first U.S.-based series adapted from one of Coben’s books. Robert Hull, known for his work on “God Friended Me” and “Quantum Leap”, is collaborating with Coben to develop this series and will take on the role of showrunner.
In a statement, Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s vice president of scripted series for the U.S. and Canada, praised Harlan’s captivating stories. His tales, renowned globally, keep fans on the edge of their seats with his unique plot twists, suspenseful cliffhangers, and intriguing mysteries. No one is quite like Harlan, and his first U.S. scripted series on Netflix will certainly follow suit. We’re confident that he, along with Robby, will maintain the same level of excitement that audiences have grown accustomed to, making it an event not to be missed.
Hull expressed, “I’ve admired Harlan’s books since I was young, and getting the opportunity to breathe life into this tale alongside him, Jinny, Peter, and the exceptional Netflix crew has been a long-cherished aspiration.
As a gamer, I’m embarking on an eight-episode journey in pursuit of the truth. The story revolves around me, a father who’s been unjustly incarcerated for life, accused of murdering my own son. But here’s the twist: I stumble upon evidence suggesting that my child might not have perished after all! This sets off an escape from prison to uncover the truth about my son’s fate.
So far, Netflix has translated several of Harlan Coben’s popular novels into four different languages, including this year’s hit “Fool Me Once” and the upcoming “Missing You,” set to premiere in January. In each adaptation, Coben collaborates with local writers. Some other Coben titles on Netflix include “Stay Close” and “The Stranger” (produced in the U.K.), “The Innocent” (Spain), “Gone for Good” (France), “Hold Tight” and “The Woods” (Poland). Adaptations of “Caught” and “Run Away” are currently being developed as well.
Hull and Coben, through their production company Final Twist Productions, are set to serve as executive producers for the series titled “I Will Find You“. Alongside them will be Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, and John Weber in similar roles.
