Shahid Kapoor admits crying on film set after a ‘bad’ heartbreak; ‘I can’t help it…’

As a devoted admirer of Shahid Kapoor, I find his candidness and vulnerability truly captivating. His latest confession about shedding tears over a heartbreak while on set only serves to deepen my respect for him as an artist. It’s not every day that we see such authentic emotional moments shared by our favorite stars.

Shahid Kapoor has earned immense fame due to his compelling performances throughout his career. Beyond his screen persona, his sincere disclosures foster a strong connection with viewers. Notably, the star of “Deva” recently confessed experiencing a heart-wrenching breakup that reduced him to tears on set.

In a recent chat with Faye D’Souza, Shahid Kapoor was questioned if he ever shed tears at work. The actor reminisced about a single instance where this occurred. He typically finds himself tearing up while filming movies, but this one time it happened due to a profound heartache he experienced.

My makeup artist exclaimed, ‘I’ve just finished your makeup! Please don’t cry!'” He went on to recount his emotional state and added, “I couldn’t stop the tears, I feel like I’m damaging myself.” He clarified, “I’ve faced similar situations before, but not for work,” he said.

Beyond what’s already mentioned, Shahid also pondered over the pressures men face in Indian society, particularly regarding their roles. Notably, he pointed out that boys are often taught they must act as providers and safeguard their families from a very young age.

Occasionally, it can feel quite overwhelming. At times, one might long for tranquility and express, “I don’t always have to bear all the concerns and responsibilities; perhaps I could allow myself to be more open and let someone else take care of me for a change.” He also pondered aloud, “Why can’t these roles sometimes be reversed?

Shahid noted that ultimately, everyone, regardless of gender, experiences a range of emotions as we are all fundamentally human. He brought attention to the struggle many men face in revealing their more sensitive or vulnerable aspects. In his profession, however, he feels comfortable exposing this side because it’s essential for his work which often requires him to reach emotional depth and expressiveness.

In simpler terms, the actor who played Kabir Singh stated that an actor recognizes vulnerability as extremely appealing compared to aggression. He further added that it’s natural for humans to feel vulnerable, and men in particular should embrace this trait. To wrap up his thoughts, he said that being vulnerable is acceptable because it’s part of being human.

Shahid will be next seen in Deva alongside Pooja Hegde.
