As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in virtual worlds, I can’t help but draw parallels between my escapades and this heartening news about the Golden Globe Foundation‘s grant recipients. Just as I navigate through different levels, these nonprofits are embarking on their own journeys towards making a difference in arts, culture, education, journalism, and free speech protections.
The Golden Globe Foundation is bringing joy as we approach the holidays by announcing the nonprofits that will receive their grants for the years 2024 and 2025. This diverse selection includes a total of 83 organizations.
In 2023, after the sale of the Golden Globes, a new foundation was established to continue the philanthropic work initiated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. This foundation earns revenue from licensing fees for the televised event and distributes it, totaling $60 million over three decades. The recipients of this year’s grants extend longstanding support for arts education, film preservation, journalism, free speech advocacy, and uplifting underprivileged communities.
The President of the Golden Globe Foundation, Henry Arnaud, stated that their foundation is dedicated to both nurturing their community and working towards a world where creativity thrives. With roots deeply embedded in history, the organization takes pride in offering assistance to numerous programs that positively influence areas such as art, culture, education, journalism, and free speech advocacy. They are pleased with this year’s grant recipients and celebrate their significant contributions.
