As a lifestyle expert with a keen interest in the world of Bollywood, I must say that Ranbir Kapoor‘s journey in the film industry is as captivating as his performances on-screen. His unique bond with his legendary father, Rishi Kapoor, adds an intriguing layer to his story.
As a devoted admirer, I proudly acknowledge that I share the same level of talent and giftedness as my esteemed late father, Rishi Kapoor, in the realm of acting. Despite our mutual passion for cinema, we seldom conversed about each other’s work. In truth, my venerable father was a man who seldom openly praised my cinematic endeavors. However, I fondly remember his amusing response to the ending of Rockstar in one of our past interviews.
In a discussion with Film Companion Studios, Ranbir Kapoor reflected on his film career, sharing both its triumphs and challenges experienced in recent years. During this talk, Anupama Chopra brought up Rishi Kapoor’s powerful reaction when director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra presented him with the trailer for Sanju.
Rishi ji was visibly emotional as he watched his son’s outstanding performance in the film. When asked about his emotions upon seeing his father cry during the movie, Ranbir replied that he rarely articulates his feelings regarding his work. He reminisced about the time when Rockstar was first released.
In the past, the late actor inquired of his son whether the character had died or reappeared in the movie. The star of “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” explained his father’s misunderstanding and confirmed that she was deceased, but it was her spirit that appeared on stage instead. When he received this news, Rishi Kapoor simply said, “Okay, goodbye,” before ending the call.
After receiving the emotional video from Rajkumar Hirani, Ranbir expressed that he felt quite pleased. Later on, when questioned if they had discussed the video at home, Ranbir’s spouse, Alia Bhatt, revealed that since seeing the video, it hasn’t been a topic of conversation in their household.
Furthermore, when the actor from 102 Not Out watched Barfi, he reached out to his son a few days before the movie’s release and expressed that while he believed his son had acting talent, he should avoid films with an art-focused approach. Thus, it is evident that he holds high standards for impressing others, as noted by the star of Shamshera.
At present, on the professional side, Ranbir Kapoor is engaged in filming for Ramayana: Part 1. Additionally, he will make an appearance in a movie titled Love & War.
