ONE OR EIGHT Enlists Big Sean for “KAWASAKI” Release

As a long-time follower of the ever-evolving world of music, I must say that the collaboration between ONE OR EIGHT and Big Sean on their pre-debut single “KAWASAKI” is nothing short of electrifying! The high-energy blend of Jersey Club beats and trap-leaning bass lines, coupled with Big Sean’s sharp lyricism, creates a sonic landscape that is truly captivating.

The globally popular boy band ONE OR EIGHT, set to debut in June 2024, is collaborating with Big Sean on the release of their pre-debut single titled “KAWASAKI”.

The eight-member ensemble that kicked off Hypefest Hong Kong 2024’s inaugural day, and Big Sean, preserve the initial track’s vibrant sonic terrain characterized by Jersey Club beats and robust bass lines with a trap influence. The GRAMMY-nominated hip-hop artist infuses an additional thrill through his skillful wordplay, amplifying the existing energy of “KAWASAKI” to even greater heights.

The music video for our collaboration is also being unveiled, directed by Glenn Michael who has worked with artists like The Weeknd, The Chainsmokers, and Big Sean. This video depicts ONE OR EIGHT getting pulled into an alternate realm by a mysterious energy source. With the aid of their motorbikes, they execute dynamic dance routines to create a “gathering” that surpasses the absurdities and terrors of our world. After leaving this otherworldly experience, they carry its impact within them.

In a thrilling turn of events, I was beyond ecstatic when Big Sean agreed to collaborate on our track during the development and release of ‘KAWASAKI.’ Hearing ‘Control’ and ‘Moves’ back in the day left an indelible mark on me, so having him join us is nothing short of mind-blowing and surreal. In his own words, Big Sean expressed that after witnessing ONE OR EIGHT’s electrifying live performance at the AVEX house in LA, he knew they were destined for greatness. When the chance to collaborate presented itself and I heard the song, he immediately jumped on board. He believes in our potential and thinks we are on the brink of superstardom, leading the charge in J-pop and that entire scene.

This musical group, known as ONE OR EIGHT, consists of eight members hailing from Japan – Mizuki, Neo, Reia, Ryota, Souma, Takeru, Tsubasa, and Yuga. The unique names they bear stem from the Japanese phrase “‘一か八か’,” which means ‘all or nothing.’ This ensemble unveiled their worldwide debut earlier in August with the single “Don’t Tell Nobody.
