As an ardent admirer of Varun Dhawan, witnessing his journey from Bollywood newcomer to family man has been nothing short of inspiring. His latest interview, where he opens up about his transformation into fatherhood and his deep reverence for his wife Natasha, resonates deeply with me as a fellow parent.
In June 2024, Varun Dhawan and his wife, Natasha Dalal, became parents to a baby girl named Lara. Since then, the actor has been juggling his acting career with his new role as a father. In a recent interview, he confessed that he feels guilty daily for not being able to spend enough time with his newborn daughter and his wife. He also praised Natasha highly, referring to her as his heroine.
During a chat with GQ India, Varun Dhawan shared insights about the deep-rooted changes in his life that occurred after welcoming his daughter, Lara, on June 3, 2024.
The performer detailed how becoming a dad had transformed him instantly, revealing a strong sense of guardianship that had been stirred. Moreover, he showered his wife, Natasha Dalal, with heartfelt praise, likening her to a superhero due to her remarkable fortitude and tenacity.
He shared that what touched him deeply was witnessing his wife and daughter bonding, as it reminded him of past instances where he had been disrespectful towards his own mother.
Actor who portrayed Baby John expressed remorse about certain situations, recognizing the significant sacrifices women undergo during childbirth, which he feels are beyond a man’s understanding.
To be honest, I’ve been finding it challenging to juggle my commitments lately. With the launch of Citadel: Honey Bunny and Baby John, not to mention ongoing projects like Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and a film directed by my father, my personal time at home has become quite limited.
When queried if he often felt remorseful for not being part of the initial stages of his daughter’s life, Varun openly acknowledged daily feelings of guilt. Regardless of his desire to participate, he clarified that prolonged leave from work wasn’t a practical option.
He intends to spend a few days with Lara and Natasha in December, but he realizes that it may not be sufficient, given that filming for Border 2 starts promptly afterwards.
In terms of his professional life, Dhawan will appear in an upcoming film titled Baby John. This movie features Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanya Malhotra, and Rajpal Yadav alongside him. Directed by Kalees, the release date for this production is scheduled for December 25, 2024, in cinemas nationwide.
