As a devoted follower of J. Cole and his incredible musical journey, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions as I absorb the news that the 2025 Dreamville Festival will be its swan song. Over the years, this event has grown from an ambitious dream into a vibrant celebration of music, community, and camaraderie – a testament to the power of perseverance and the magic that can happen when you dare to follow your heart.
The 2025 edition of J. Cole’s annual Dreamville Festival will officially be its last.
The news was confirmed by the rapper’s Dreamville team in an Instagram post, sharing a video of drone shots illustrating the size of the Raleigh, North Carolina festival. “From the moment the idea of a festival took shape, we couldn’t help but wonder: were we in over our heads? Would people come to our home in Raleigh? What would that even look like?” the Instagram caption reads. “We took a leap of faith—breaking ground, making announcements, and even navigating reschedules due to the elements and a world that seemed to be falling apart. Through every challenge and milestone, our community stood by us.”
The text says, “It goes on saying, ‘Year after year, witnessing individuals from diverse backgrounds worldwide unite here has been a deeply satisfying part of our story. Whether they’ve been with us since the beginning or are just joining us now, every gathering is extraordinary. As we near our fifth and last year, we extend an invitation to our former students and newcomers alike, to join us one more time—to dine together, foster camaraderie, and celebrate what we’ve built.’
Check out the video below. The final Dreamville Festival is set for April 5th and 6th, 2025.
