Paramount Hits Nine-Month High in Share of TV Viewing With Sports, ‘Yellowstone’

As a seasoned gamer with a knack for keeping tabs on the ever-evolving world of entertainment, I must say, this latest development in the TV landscape has certainly piqued my interest! The NFL, college football, and the gripping drama of Yellowstone have collectively catapulted Paramount to its highest share of TV usage in nine months. That’s quite a feat, especially considering the stiff competition from industry heavyweights like Disney, NBCUniversal, and Fox.

By pairing NFL broadcasts, college football games, and the popular series “Yellowstone,” Paramount achieved its highest level of TV viewership in nearly nine months.

For November, Nielsen’s Media Distributor Ranking placed Paramount channels at the top with a 9.3% share of TV viewing in the U.S., their highest rating since February when CBS broadcasted the Super Bowl. This is an increase from 8.7% in October, and it pushes them ahead of NBCUniversal into third position among TV distributors for that month.

In the gaming world, I found myself glued to both YouTube and Fox during November, hitting their peaks in viewership. As with monthly rankings by Nielsen, this period stretches from October 28th to November 24th.

Moving further along, Hallmark achieved its highest viewership share (1.4%) since December 2023, marking the start of its annual “Countdown to Christmas” collection of holiday films. As expected, the 14 companies displayed in the following chart accounted for approximately 75% of all TV viewing in the U.S.

The media distributor rankings for November are below.
