SimCity Builtid heads to space to celebrate a decade of construction

  • SimCity Buildit is set to celebrate its tenth anniversary with major new additions
  • The space specialisation lets you add buildings like the Launchpad and Astronaut Training Center
  • Visual refreshes are being made, and you can step back in time with the new Memory Lane Mayor’s Pass

As someone who has spent countless hours of my life (and sanity) managing virtual cities, I must say, I’m quite thrilled about SimCity Buildit’s tenth anniversary update. Space specializations? You had me at “space”!

SimCity Buildit is about to receive a significant update to mark its 10th anniversary. But if you’re thinking, “Is it another building type? Sounds dull,” then you’d be partially correct. However, I doubt anyone anticipated that SimCity Buildit would venture into outer space for the celebration!

Sure thing!

Not only that, but with the new Mayor’s Pass season, Memory Lane, you’ll have a chance to revisit the past by exploring some of the most beloved structures from previous seasons. Additionally, there are enhanced visuals and graphical improvements, and a festive event will take place from December 25th to January 7th, adding a touch of winter wonderland magic.

Simsational

It’s amazing how long SimCity Buildit has been around, especially considering it was released during a period when some felt the Sims franchise was at its lowest under EA. Yet, it has managed to persist for quite some time and continues to introduce new features. For dedicated fans, these additions like space specialization and visual upgrades must feel like great payoffs for their loyalty towards SimCity Buildit.
