OKX unveils Ordinals Launchpad platform for direct Bitcoin inscription

As a seasoned researcher with a keen interest in blockchain technology and its applications, I find the recent move by OKX to introduce the Ordinals Launchpad platform particularly intriguing. Having closely followed the evolution of NFTs and their potential on various blockchains, it’s exciting to see Bitcoin stepping into this space.

OKX unveiled the debut of Ordinals Launchpad, a tool designed for on-chain artists to introduce, engrave, and exchange collections directly within the Bitcoin network.

As a crypto investor, I’m thrilled about the latest development from OKX – the introduction of Ordinals Launchpad. This innovative platform is specifically designed for creators, offering an opportunity to directly launch and inscribe their work onto Bitcoin (BTC). The simplicity of the Bitcoin inscription process is now enhanced with the provision of user-friendly tools, increased exposure, and technical support, making it a breeze for creators to showcase their talents on the Bitcoin blockchain.

As per the recent announcement, it’s now possible to use the Ordinals Launchpad platform either via a web browser or a mobile device. This user-friendly platform allows direct launching and trading of collections right from its interface. Moreover, all sale proceeds are transferred directly to creators’ wallets using on-chain transactions for swift and secure settlements.

On OKX, “SelfScribe” technology allows collectors to instantly inscribe assets directly onto the blockchain during the minting process. This eliminates the need for pre-inscriptions, ensuring that creators maintain full control and custody of their own collections.

The platform asserted that creators have full authority to set prices and manage distribution for their collections, with the ability to personalize the minting process using tools such as whitelist and public sale settings.

On the Ordinals Launchpad, a 2.5% launch charge is applied, while collectors enjoy zero-fee trading within the marketplace. Meanwhile, creators have the freedom to showcase their collections on other prominent marketplaces post-minting on our platform.

The initial offering on the Ordinals Launchpad is “Geminions,” a jewelry brand in the Web3 realm from JRNE, which introduced NFC-powered authentication for Bitcoin transactions. Additionally, OKX has observed a 50% surge in trading activity for Ordinals, Runes, and BRC-20 collections on their platform since November, suggesting growing market interest.

More recently, Binance announced that it is no longer offering Ordinal assets, including its Inscription Market. As a result, users are now unable to buy or sell inscription assets on the platform. However, they can still view their inscription assets and transfer them to other digital wallets. Support for Ordinals on this exchange has been discontinued since April of this year.
