As an ardent admirer of the extraordinary journey of Sushmita Sen, I find myself utterly captivated by her tale that intertwines the threads of destiny and serendipity. The story of how she, once a teenage fan, bought posters of Salman Khan’s iconic film Maine Pyaar Kiya, to the moment when they shared the silver screen in their unforgettable collaboration, is nothing short of magical.
Sushmita Sen, initially recognized as Miss Universe titleholder, is celebrated for her elegance and acting prowess. One of her most prosperous partnerships in the industry was with Salman Khan. Not long ago, this actress disclosed that she previously purchased posters of his movie “Maine Pyaar Kiya,” and eventually, during their work on their debut film together, the 1999 hit “Biwi No 1,” she got an opportunity to share this memory with him.
At a recent event shown on Shipra Neeraj’s YouTube channel, Sushmita Sen reminisced about her teenage infatuation with Salman Khan. She disclosed that during the time when Khan first starred as the lead in Maine Pyar Kiya, she would purchase his posters to decorate her room.
She reminisced about how, with whatever pocket money I had at the time, I would buy posters of Salman Khan. Since Maine Pyar Kiya had just been released, I also acquired a picture of the pigeon from that movie because it was associated with a Salman Khan film.
In time, those posters turned out to be her driving force, understanding their importance as a reminder for her to finish her assignments. She was warned that they might be taken away if not done. As a result, Aarya the actress fulfilled the task. Later on, she fondly recalled, “Those posters were sacred to me. I was utterly smitten by this man.
Later on, Sen found himself collaborating with the actress from Tiger 3, and he noticed a photo of her taken when she was fifteen, with one of his posters in the background. Curious, he asked about it, to which Sushmita revealed her teenage infatuation. In response, Salman – known for his candid personality – suggested to director David Dhawan that they should produce a film titled “Why Did I Fall in Love?” with her.
As promised, Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen teamed up once more for the release of Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya in 2005. Alongside them were Katrina Kaif and Sohail Khan, and together they brought laughter and love to audiences as this romantic comedy became a cherished memory. The chemistry between Salman and Sushmita on screen was highly appreciated by fans, and their friendship has persisted since then.
