I’m also intrigued by “Conclave” and “Anora,” both receiving six and five nominations respectively, as they represent unique takes on their respective genres. “The Substance” is another film that has piqued my interest, having earned five nods.

On the television front, I must admit that I’m particularly excited about this year’s nominees, with “The Bear” leading the pack with five total mentions. Its gritty portrayal of the restaurant industry is a refreshing take on a well-trodden theme, and it’s great to see it being recognized. “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shogun” are also noteworthy, each earning four nominations and demonstrating that compelling storytelling can transcend cultural boundaries.

All in all, I believe this year’s crop of nominees represents a fantastic cross-section of creativity, innovation, and excellence in the world of film and television. I eagerly await the results and can’t wait to see which productions will emerge victorious come awards season!

The Golden Globes have teamed up with data company Luminate, owned by Penske Media Eldridge (a collaboration between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge, who also own The Hollywood Reporter and Dick Clark Productions), for the categories honoring cinematic and box office achievements. Luminate will supply streaming viewership statistics for all films nominated in these categories using their Streaming Viewership product, with the data being analyzed accordingly.

Viola Davis is set to get the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, while Ted Danson will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award, both of which celebrate exceptional achievements in television.

For the upcoming 82nd Golden Globe Awards, Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner from White Cherry Entertainment (WCE) will be back as the executive producers and showrunners. The organization, Dick Clark Productions, will be responsible for organizing, hosting, and producing the event.

The Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live this coming Sunday, starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) or 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), both on CBS television and Paramount+ streaming service.

With a Paramount+ subscription that includes SHOWTIME, viewers can stream their local CBS station’s live broadcast directly through the service, in addition to on-demand content. However, those with a basic Paramount+ Essential subscription will only be able to access on-demand content a day after it airs live.
