As a lifelong comic book enthusiast and movie buff, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement every time a new Marvel rumor surfaces. Having grown up with the X-Men and watching Channing Tatum’s long-awaited debut as Gambit in Deadpool 3 was like a dream come true for this old comic geek. The idea that he might return to reprise his role in the next Avengers movies has me hopping with anticipation.
I still remember the heartbreak when 20th Century Fox held the rights to Gambit, and we never got to see him shine in his own film. But with Disney’s acquisition of Fox and the doors finally opening for characters like the X-Men and Fantastic Four to join the MCU, I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for Tatum’s return ever since.
If the rumors are true, I can only imagine the fun that Channing will bring to the table as Gambit in those big, multiversal events. I hope the studio confirms his role soon, because I just can’t wait to see more of his charming Southern drawl and acrobatic skills in action.
In the meantime, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for any updates on Tatum’s return as Gambit. And if it doesn’t happen? Well, I guess I’ll just have to console myself with a rewatch of Deadpool 3 and its delightful cameos from the old Fox superhero movies. At least that Blade/Deadpool team-up was worth the wait!
As a lifelong Marvel fan who has followed the saga since the early days of Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, I am beyond excited about the continuous expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). From the big screen to Disney+, it’s been an incredible journey that has kept me on the edge of my seat.
One particular surprise in recent years was the appearance of Channing Tatum as Gambit in Deadpool 2 and Wolverine. I had been eagerly waiting for this moment since the character was first introduced to the big screen, and it did not disappoint.
Rumors swirling around suggest that Tatum will return as Gambit in a significant way, and I sincerely hope these rumors are true. Growing up with X-Men comics and animated series, Gambit was always one of my favorite characters. If the MCU is able to capture his charm and charisma on screen, it would be a dream come true for me and countless other fans.
I eagerly await the next chapter in the Marvel saga and cannot wait to see what surprises lie ahead!
Following his electrifying performances and action-packed sequences in Deadpool 3, fans have speculated if Taylor Kitsch could reprise the fan-loved mutant character in future Marvel films. A report from Cosmic Circus hints at the possibility of Kitsch returning as Gambit in the next two Avengers movies helmed by The Russo Brothers. Given that these crossover movies are planned to be significant multiverse events, it’s plausible that Gambit could participate in the action.
Information on Avengers: Doomsday is scant, but fans can hardly contain their excitement at Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Doctor Doom in the MCU. As for which characters will play a part in the plot, that’s still under wraps. We’ll have to wait and see if Tatum’s Gambit receives official studio confirmation.
Absolutely, let’s approach this report cautiously for now. There are numerous whispers about the upcoming Avengers films, and not every rumor will materialize. However, playing Gambit was significant for Tatum, so it wouldn’t be unanticipated if he attempted to revive that role in the MCU at some point in the future.
As a longtime fan of superhero movies, I found Deadpool 3 to be a delightful throwback to the golden age of Marvel films produced by 20th Century Fox. Being a child of the ’90s, I vividly remember watching Blade, Elektra, and X-Men on the big screen, so seeing these iconic characters make cameos in Deadpool 3 brought back a flood of nostalgia. The inclusion of Chris Evans’ Human Torch was also a nice touch, as he is one of my favorite actors from that era.
The scene featuring Deadpool and Wolverine was particularly exciting for me, as I have always enjoyed their dynamic on-screen chemistry. The montage during the credits was a wonderful tribute to the old studio’s work within the superhero genre, and it made me feel like I was watching an episode of X-Men: Evolution or a classic Marvel Comics storyline come to life.
I must admit that I was disappointed to see Channing Tatum’s Gambit make a cameo rather than starring in his own movie. As a fan of both the character and the actor, I had been eagerly awaiting a standalone Gambit film for years. Yet, it seems that fate has not yet allowed him to have his moment in the spotlight, but I remain hopeful that we will see more of this charming rogue in future Marvel projects.
When Disney purchased 20th Century Fox and its assets, it became possible for iconic characters such as the Fantastic Four and X-Men to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, they haven’t made their grand entrance just yet. Nevertheless, mutant characters have been incorporated into various minor roles across different projects. This includes the upcoming film Deadpool 3, which features Wolverine, Gambit, Pyro, Cassandra Nova, and more actively participating in the storyline, alongside non-verbal versions of other characters.
Time alone can reveal whether or not Gambit will resurface in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Channing Tatum certainly left a lasting impact, with his dynamic performance blending action and humor, even playfully mocking his accent. Fingers crossed he gets another shot at that role in the future.
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film set for release in theaters is titled “Captain America: A New World” on February 14th. Meanwhile, take a look at the release dates of movies in 2025.
