Online, there’s been a lot of discussion about Nike’s latest running shirt, as people have noticed its similarity to SATISFY’s iconic MothTech™ design.
It’s become clear that Nike’s latest running t-shirt design, featuring numerous holes for improved airflow, resembles a popular design by French brand SATISFY, which is famously known as MothTech™. However, contrary to speculation, there has been no collaboration between the two brands. Upon noticing the similarities, SATISFY took to social media to clarify their non-involvement in Nike’s project. In a LinkedIn post, they expressed surprise at the resemblance and stated that they had no part in the development of this product. The design seems to heavily borrow from their signature MothTech™ style, which is troubling given Nike’s reputation for vigorously protecting its own image and intellectual property rights.
In their own words, SATISFY reveals the origin of MothTech™ as the essence of their company DNA. This innovative concept symbolizes the blend of culture, efficiency, and utility, providing a solid base for our revolutionary efforts to reshape running culture. They further expressed gratitude towards their community, acknowledging their watchful eyes and steadfast backing as they venture beyond established norms in the realm of running culture together.
However, Nike’s latest running shirt has ignited controversy online, with some advocating for SATISFY to receive recognition, while other passionate runners argue that ventilation holes in clothing is not a novel concept and claim that Nike has previously employed such technology.
