- Developer Drecom, the folks behind Wizardry Variants: Daphne, have teased a new release
- Hungry Meem is still seemingly in stealth mode but some details have emerged
- A full reveal is set for sometime this month
These days, it’s uncommon to see a genuinely enigmatic announcement since most significant developers and publishers tend to reveal their plans promptly. But occasionally, smaller companies leverage mystery to their benefit; this seems to be the scenario with Drecom and their cryptic hint about their upcoming project!
Despite the lack of clarity regarding its platform or specific content, Hungry Meem has unveiled a teaser website featuring peculiar creatures surrounding a tree stump. The official unveiling or launch is expected to happen towards the end of this month, specifically on January 15th.
If you have a sharp eye, you might recall Drecom as the developers behind the mobile version of Wizardry Variants: Daphne, released towards the end of last year. Additionally, they are known for their work on the popular game, One Piece: Treasure Cruise.
Feeling hungry?
The main problem with this mysterious announcement is that there’s not much information provided. It seems likely that the release for mobile devices was prompted by the marketing strategy of encouraging people to press a button, since pressing a button doesn’t sound as exciting compared to other actions.
In terms of gameplay, it could be like a creature collector or an augmented reality version of “Pokemon Go”. We’ll find out more when we hopefully get a proper announcement this month. Given that Drecom seems eager to innovate, I’m optimistic about some unexpected features at least.
