2024 saw preliminary glimpses of the brown suede version of the New Balance’s 1906L, but it’s not until January that we can expect the actual release of the “Rich Oak” edition. This colorway is widely considered the most traditional-looking within the family of hybrid loafers from the Boston brand, which is introducing the 1906L model.
In contrast to earlier editions featuring mesh accents, this time around, the entire upper is wrapped in a rich, warm-toned brown suede – from the overlays right down to the tongue. The only synthetic detail here is the signature heel counter, which provides a striking contrast against the hairy suede finish. This pair rests on a sleek black rubber sole, adorned with the distinctive lines that are shared among its other versions.
Common features encompass an “Energy” label on the side middles, a 1906L design on the side tops, and New Balance branding at the rear and front sections.
More recent versions, appearing online, retain the technical specifications and mesh structure from the 1906 original. Notably, New Balance’s characteristic chrome accents are now available in “Silver Metallic”, “Silver Metallic/Black”, and the “Silver Metallic/Navy/Dark Juniper” colorways. The latter is scheduled for release on January 15.
Additionally, alongside the style known as “Rich Oak,” there’s now a black suede version as well. This suggests that the brand might introduce more comfortable loafer designs in similar styles.
Currently, there’s no set date announced for the official release. Keep checking TopMob for the latest news regarding the release details.
