At the start of each new year, it’s typical for golf brands to unveil fresh sponsorship deals for the approaching season, and this year was no different. The previous year (2024) marked the exit of Tiger Woods and Jason Day from Nike, who moved on to Sun Day Red and Malbon respectively. However, 2025 brings about more changes in the established order as emerging brands like lululemon aim to establish themselves, and traditional giants such as Reebok look to cash in on golf’s ongoing popularity among the younger generations (20-30 year olds).
With that in mind, here are the major apparel signings as we dive into the 2025 golf season.
Bryson Dechambeau to Reebok
It’s been some time since Reebok has had a significant presence in the golf community. However, it seems fitting that the brand is making its comeback to golf with Bryson Dechambeau, who can be considered today’s equivalent of the charismatic John Daly from the ’90s. This partnership feels like a full circle moment. Not only is Dechambeau a recent major champion, but he’s also a prolific content creator with the power to attract millions to his social media platforms. In an unusual arrangement, Reebok is not just sponsoring Dechambeau himself, but his entire LIV Golf Crushers team that includes Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, and Anirban Lahiri as well.
Matthieu Pavon to J.Lindeberg
In a notable move for 2025, Swedish sportswear and fashion brand J.Lindeberg unveiled the addition of French golfer Matthieu Pavon to their team on December 19. This strategic signing strengthens J.Lindeberg’s existing European presence, benefiting both the sports apparel brand and Pavon who now joins a prestigious roster of JL golfers headed by Viktor Hovland. At 32 years old, Pavon is in peak form and aims to build upon his successful 2024 season while representing the bridge logo.
Max Homa to lululemon
Last season, Lululemon took its first major step into golf by signing Min Woo Lee to a multi-year deal. Although Max Homa may not share “the chef’s” flair for fashion, his down-to-earth personality and self-effacing humor have made him a favorite among fans. As he switches from traditional brand FootJoy, the 34-year-old from Burbank, California is expected to receive increased marketing support as he aims to qualify for the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York.
Akshay Bhatia to TravisMathew
Akshay Bhatia, a rising star in golf, swings with freedom and in 2025, he transitions from Greyson Clothiers to TravisMathew. This move puts him among an intriguing group of ambassadors that includes Reggie Bush, a former NFL player turned celebrity golfer, Austin Reaves from the Lakers, and Jimmy Garoppolo, the quarterback for the Rams. At just 22 years old and with two PGA TOUR wins already to his name, Bhatia appears to be a shrewd choice for the golf brand inspired by surf culture.
