The beloved game show “Wheel of Fortune” is set to carry on its fresh chapter in the 2025 television lineup, and it seems many viewers are still adapting to this new phase. Following Pat Sajak‘s retirement from one of the most iconic game shows last year, Ryan Seacrest assumed hosting responsibilities starting from September. Meanwhile, Sajak is wrapping up one more season of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” before fully departing, and surprisingly, he’s making a return to his old hangout.
In a fresh video shared by Wheel of Fortune, Seacrest guided viewers through a behind-the-scenes tour, highlighting the dedicated team members who work tirelessly to bring the show to life. The production team and art designers were featured prominently before Seacrest returned to the set, whereupon the sight of Sajak enjoying a sandwich was an unexpected delightful appearance.
Indeed, I’ve been eagerly anticipating Sajak’s return to the stage, but I never imagined it would happen quite this swiftly or in such a playful manner.
It was my assumption that if he returned, it would be with a formal appearance on the show itself. But this surprise guest spot was delightful and brightened my day. It’s clear that “Wheel of Fortune” remains a familiar place for him, as comfortable as ever whether off-stage or on camera. Additionally, the casual nature of his cameo leaves me pondering how often he might have visited since his last episode aired.
Interestingly enough, the entertaining cameo appeared just following rumors that Pat Sajak might be contemplating a permanent reprise on Wheel of Fortune. A source shared with Radar Online that Sajak was supposedly considering a return as host after hosting Celebrity Wheel of Fortune for the final time. However, nothing is set in stone yet, given it’s barely been a year since his retirement and Seacrest has been excelling in the role thus far. Yet, one thing that’s undeniable is the deep affection Sajak still holds for the show, and vice versa.
Currently, Ryan Seacrest is still managing the role on “Wheel of Fortune.” Despite an initial rocky period marked by off-screen difficulties and on-air blunders, he appears to be thriving. It’s challenging to step into someone else’s shoes, especially when they are beloved, so it’s not unexpected that there would be an adjustment period. However, he’s gradually getting the hang of things, and it’s delightful to observe his interactions with the contestants, Vanna White, and even Pat Sajak, as shown in this video.
As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the unexpected delights that the 50th anniversary of “Wheel of Fortune” might bring, with Sajak surely being part of it. For now, we can only wonder about the future, but rest assured, you can still enjoy Sajak on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” and re-runs of the classic “Wheel of Fortune,” while Seacrest continues to captivate audiences with new episodes of this timeless game show.
