In recent days, the destructive wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles have not only forced mass evacuations but also taken away homes belonging to numerous celebrities. Among those affected and left homeless by the fire are established icons [Name 1] and [Name 2]. While some online comments have been divided about the loss of these stars’ luxury properties – which they often own multiple of – the fans of both individuals have uniformly expressed their sorrow at this unfortunate turn of events.
Over 30,000 people are currently evacuating their homes, leaving most of their belongings behind, as numerous properties lie in ruins. Although some houses have miraculously escaped total destruction, many grand mansions and businesses now resemble nothing more than piles of debris. The roster of famous figures impacted by this disaster is long, including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Steven Spielberg, and Anna Farris, to name a few. However, the heartwarming display of empathy for Hopkins and Goodman from the public has been particularly noteworthy.
Anthony Hopkins, who played the iconic role in “The Silence of the Lambs” and recently turned 87, moved into his $6 million four-bedroom house last year (2021), following the sale of his longtime Malibu oceanfront residence. This move was perceived by many as Hopkins settling into a permanent home for the remainder of his life. Regrettably, photos taken candidly during the fires have shown that this new home is now just a charred fence and smoldering remnants of the property it once was.
In contrast, the $4.6 million house belonging to 72-year-old John Goodman, known for his role in The Conners, has been completely demolished. All that’s left are the blackened remains of a swimming pool. Unlike Hopkins, this home is not Goodman’s primary residence; he primarily resides in Louisiana.
Pacific Palisades Fires Continue to Ravage Hollywood Homes
Over the past three days, I’ve been following the heartbreaking news about fellow film enthusiasts losing their homes and businesses due to the devastating fires. The cost of this uncontrolled inferno has skyrocketed in just 24 hours. Legendary director Steven Spielberg and his longtime collaborator, Tom Hanks, have had their homes reduced to ashes, while we watched Paris Hilton’s Malibu mansion crumble live on television. Star Wars legends Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford were evacuated, and Ben Affleck temporarily moved in with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, although fortunately for him, it seems his home escaped significant damage, thankfully.
On Monday and Tuesday, powerful winds swiftly propagated a fire across the region, resulting in the devastating destruction of over 1000 structures. Among those who lost their homes were Miles Teller from Top Gun: Maverick, Anna Farris, Adam Brody, James Woods, and many others as the blaze persists. Fortunately, the number of reported fatalities remains low for now, but the situation in the area is far from resolved.
