The legal action initiated by a hairdresser against Fox Sports, alleging inappropriate sexual behavior from executives Charlie Dixon and Skip Bayless, might involve additional parties as the case progresses in court.
Marcellus Wiley, a previous co-host of FS1’s Speak for Yourself, is contemplating legal action against the network, claiming they colluded to remove him from the show and replace him with Joy Taylor. According to Wiley, Taylor allegedly gained favor with Dixon through inappropriate behavior, while disregarding hairdresser Noushin Faraji’s complaints about sexual harassment.
On a recent interview with Jason Whitlock, Wiley remarked, “I’m attempting to maintain that gaze at this moment.
In her quest for uncovering the extent of knowledge held by network executives concerning the reported misconduct, Faraji has hinted at potentially involving Fox Sports President Mark Silverman and Fox Sports CEO Eric Shanks in the ensuing legal action.
The complaint alleged that the Fox company didn’t take action to stop harassment, thereby creating a work environment that was hostile towards women, minorities, and people with disabilities. In this environment, executives and talented individuals were permitted to physically and verbally mistreat employees without any consequences.
In a lawsuit filed on January 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Faraji is taking legal action against Fox Sports, Dixon and Skip Bayless over claims of sexual battery and a hostile work environment. She alleges that Dixon touched her inappropriately at a birthday party for Taylor in 2017, and further accuses him of making unwanted advances such as rubbing her body, grabbing her buttocks, pressing his body against hers and kissing her cheeks. Bayless is said to have propositioned her with $1.5 million for sexual favors. The complaint also states that Fox terminated her job after Dixon instructed them to do so, due to her disclosing information about his intimate relationships with network employees.
Some of Fox Sports’ prominent broadcasting personalities, such as Emmanuel Acho, former host of Speak For Yourself, have found themselves involved in the ongoing lawsuit. It is also claimed that Acho had a relationship with Taylor, who is said to be one of the parties involved in this legal dispute. In 2022, the show was renamed Speak, with Taylor taking over from Wiley while Acho continues as co-host on The Facility.
When the lawsuit was initiated, Wiley expressed in an interview that he understood he had been “put in a tight spot as Charlie, Joy, and Acho were working together against me.
The class action we’re suggesting aims to stand for additional Fox workers who claim they were not given the necessary minimum wage and overtime compensation.
Fox Sports didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
