Thousands of people, including the Tellers family and many well-known personalities like Mandy Moore, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Cary Elwes, Paris Hilton, Bozoma Saint John, Milo Ventimiglia, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison, and Ricki Lake, have lost their homes to the wildfires.
Beginning Tuesday, when the initial wildfires started in Pacific Palisades and then moved towards Malibu and Santa Monica overnight, emergency personnel have been actively working to control other ongoing wildfires across Los Angeles, such as the Eaton, Hurst, and Kenneth fires. The number of fatalities has increased to 11 according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, as reported on Friday.
On a Wednesday evening, another fire, known as the Sunset Fire, ignited in the Hollywood Hills, posing a threat to notable attractions such as the Hollywood Bowl and several other tourist hotspots. Fortunately, by Thursday morning, firefighters managed to successfully control the flames.
By Friday afternoon, here’s the status on containment: The Kenneth Fire was 35% under control, while the Palisades Fire near the coastline was holding steady at 8%. The Eaton Fire was still challenging with only 3% containment. However, the Hurst Fire, situated south of Santa Clarita, was doing better and was 70% contained.
