Lesli Linka Glatter, a prominent TV director-producer and President of the Directors Guild of America, shared that her residence in Pacific Palisades was among those destroyed by the recent wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles this week.
Regrettably, my home is destroyed, along with a significant portion of the Palisades, which is truly disheartening,” Glatter posted on Instagram. “My sympathies are extended to everyone who has suffered such losses and to those currently at risk.”

“I’m deeply saddened that my house is no more, along with a large part of the Palisades, it’s devastating for many,” Glatter wrote on Instagram. “My thoughts are with all those who have lost so much and those still in danger.
She mentioned that she was securely staying at her “son’s home in the valley” and expressed gratitude towards those who contacted her during the crisis.
On Friday, she additionally sent a message to DGA members, expressing more thoughts about the catastrophe. She wrote: “I’ve been incredibly blessed to reside in Pacific Palisades. This is where I raised my son and have lived for over two decades. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, I lost my home alongside hundreds of others in the Palisades, Malibu, Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and other places we’ve lived, worked, and filmed extensively. This disaster and the pain many of us are experiencing is far from over, but I am confident that, no matter what, we will find a way to endure and emerge on the other side of this hardship.
In her message, Glatter further discussed her opinions on the recent wildfires. She mentioned that these fires occur after Hollywood has already endured the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic, along with actor and writer strikes and a reduction in work opportunities. Moreover, she acknowledged and appreciated the members of the guild, offering assistance and resources to aid in the recovery efforts.
I felt compelled to contact you directly because my spirit is burdened by the destruction caused by the persistent wildfires. I understand that I’m not the only one feeling this way, as it seems we’ve all been deeply affected emotionally by the devastating losses we’re witnessing. These are communities that hold special meaning for us, places where our connections run deep, and watching them burn has been heart-wrenching. To top it off, I feel angered and saddened that this tragedy strikes at a time when we were on the brink of recovery from the pandemic, strikes, and workforce reduction – 2025 was to be our year of revival.
She stated, “However, it’s you who gives me optimism. Each conversation or message I’ve shared with our DGA members has underscored the human aspect of our community — a capacity to stand united during challenging times, offering mutual support that propels us forward. This is what we will persist in doing — extending support and pushing forward.
Glatter is well-known for directing many popular TV series like Homeland, Mad Men, etc., with more to come in Zero Hour.)
