NBC News is adding new correspondents to its White House and Capitol Hill lineup.
Peter Alexander remains the primary White House correspondent for our network, overseeing our news coverage of the Trump administration. In addition to him, Garrett Haake steps up as a senior White House correspondent.
I’ve had the privilege of reporting on Capitol Hill for four years, followed by more than two years covering President-elect Trump, and most recently secured an exclusive phone conversation with him.
Yamiche Alcindor and Vaughn Hillyard have been appointed as the White House reporters. Prior to this, Hillyard has spent over two years reporting on Trump, while Alcindor previously covered Trump’s activities during his initial term as President.
Kelly O’Donnell and Gabe Gutierrez will keep their positions as top-tier White House reporters, while Monica Alba and Aaron Gilchrist will carry on in their roles as White House reporters.
The digital team will be comprised of Peter Nicholas, a senior White House correspondent, and Katherine Doyle, another White House reporter. Henry Gomez, Matt Dixon, and Jon Allen, who previously covered President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance extensively during the election campaign, are also joining this team, taking on extra tasks to cover the new administration.
On Capitol Hill, Ryan Nobles is set to assume a more significant position as the chief correspondent. Since joining NBC News in 2022, he has gained exclusive insights during a congressional visit to Taiwan, providing live updates from Taipei and spearheading network coverage regarding Hunter Biden.
Scott Wong and Sahil Kapur, who serve as senior congressional and national political reporters respectively, will persist in delivering updates about Capitol Hill through digital platforms. Meanwhile, Julie Tsirkin maintains her role as Capitol Hill correspondent, focusing on the latest developments within the new Congress.
