Flea Fronts New Levi’s x UNDERCOVER Lookbook

This year marks UNDERCOVER‘s 35th anniversary, and to commemorate this significant milestone, the brand led by Jun Takahashi has announced another major step. Following the surprising announcement of a womenswear runway show at Paris Fashion Week in March, they have now revealed plans for a second collaborative denim collection with Levi’s.

To showcase a line that reflects artisanship and imagination, the pair enlisted Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, who they feel perfectly represents the brand’s essence, as the face for their lookbook. The collection, comprising nine pieces, also heavily draws inspiration from UNDERCOVER’s past, with references to designs from the 1990s and 2000s featured prominently.

The Pinnacle Type II Trucker Jacket is redesigned as the leading piece, reinvented by Takahashi to echo UNDERCOVER’s Fall/Winter 1998 line, featuring detachable zip details that are incorporated throughout the design.

In time, these jeans, with a deep indigo hue reminiscent of 2003 designs, will incorporate their vintage graphics onto the jackets and t-shirts. This includes iconic themes like “Light Darkness.”

Or, for a more casual tone:

As we move forward, these old-school denims are bringing back graphics from way back in ’03, giving our throwback designs – such as the “Light Darkness” theme – a fresh spin on jackets and tees.

Have a closer inspection of the latest collaboration between Levi’s and UNDERCOVER, showcased in the lookbook you see, and grab a piece when it becomes available globally on January 18th, on both the Levi’s website and app, as well as the UNDERCOVER online store.
