Open for (Sundance Film Festival) Business: Inside Park City’s New Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

Attention Sundancers: There’s a new spot in Deer Valley to ski, sip, dine and slumber.

In November of last year, we saw the debut of Grand Hyatt Deer Valley – the hotel chain’s inaugural property in Utah. Situated within the newly constructed East Village, this hotel offers 436 guestrooms. These accommodations vary from standard rooms and suites to one, two, and three-bedroom luxury residences that blend modern design with a rustic ambiance, as described by Hyatt.

On-site dining choices include:

1. Remington Hall, our signature restaurant offering meals throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) while providing stunning views of Jordanelle Reservoir. The hotel’s notable dishes include bison tartare with cured egg yolk and truffle aioli, as well as wild boar Bolognese.

2. Hidden Ace Speakeasy, a haven for cocktails and light bites that hosts live performances by local talents and offers whisky-focused beverages.

3. The Living Room, perfect for relaxing post-dinner with a fireplace and a unique “High Chocolate” experience, presented similarly to high tea service, along with s’mores, cookies, chocolate snowballs, and various baked goods.

4. Double Blacks, combining comfort and a coffee shop atmosphere with additional offerings such as hot chocolate, spiced ciders, and menu items like truffle mac ‘n’ cheese and croque monsieurs.

Beyond the standard facilities, you’ll find extras such as a warm, open-air pool, three generously sized hot tubs, a sunny pool deck offering breathtaking vistas, and an evening entertainment schedule. Purchase Deer Valley lift tickets for the chance to explore three fresh chairlifts and 20 newly created ski slopes across 300 additional skiable acres.

Grand Hyatt Deer Valley boasts over 30,000 square feet of event space, with a magnificent ballroom spanning 10,000 square feet. This grand ballroom will be utilized by the Sundance Institute on January 24 for their annual gala fundraiser in partnership with Google TV. The upcoming event is set to honor Michelle Satter, the beloved founding senior director of artist programs at Sundance Institute, who tragically lost her family home in the Palisades Fire.

The guest list includes James Mangold, the director of “A Complete Unknown” and a Sundance Labs and festival alum, Cynthia Erivo, known for her role in “Wicked”, Sean Wang, the creator of “Didi”, and Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie, directors of “Sugarcane”. These last three filmmakers premiered their movies during the 2024 festival.
