In simple terms, it has been confirmed that Verdansk will reappear in Call of Duty Warzone during COD Next in August 2024. However, the specifics about its comeback, such as the exact date and format, remain unclear at this point, as there have been no further details given.
Initially, Verdansk served as the primary Warzone map, but it was eventually replaced – completely erased if we want to be exact. The subsequent maps failed to meet its high expectations, and with nostalgia often painting the past in a rosy hue, gamers have been eagerly anticipating Verdansk’s comeback.
Reflecting on it, regardless of hindsight, that moment was pivotal for the Battle Royale series, not often do we have a chance to rewind events like this. However, I can’t help but wonder, when will we experience its return?
Verdansk’s possible return date in Warzone
In Call of Duty Warzone, there hasn’t been a specific day announced yet for the comeback of Verdansk, but it has been confirmed that it will happen some time in Spring 2025. This is the only officially confirmed information regarding Verdansk’s return.
However, reliable leaker TheGhostOfHope has hinted at the Season 3 release on X (formerly Twitter).
2025 sees the start of Season 2 on January 28th. Given that each season typically spans about two months, it’s likely we’ll get Season 3 around mid-April.
It verifies if the tentative “Spring 2025” launch date is accurate, but Season 2 might come earlier than expected. However, this could happen if Activision decides to bring it forward during the middle of the season to align with the fifth anniversary. After all, the original Warzone was released in March 2020.
Similarly, there’s a possibility that the release could be delayed until May 2025, referred to as S3 Reloade. However, Activision will provide the precise date as we get closer. Under the most pessimistic scenario, it’s still about four months away, so it’s not an unbearably long wait.
Will Verdansk change with the re-release?
It remains uncertain whether Verdansk will undergo any modifications or new Points of Interest when it reappears in Warzone by 2025. In the Warzone series between Modern Warfare 2019 and Cold War, Verdansk had some interactions, but what we might see is more akin to the original Modern Warfare map.
