Discussions continue to swirl around businessman and rapper Sean “P. Diddy” Combs as he gears up for a trial this spring. Arrested in New York City in September 2024, Combs is currently facing both federal charges and numerous lawsuits. The “Freak Offs,” parties that Combs allegedly hosted for years, have been the focus of much conversation amidst his legal troubles. Multiple people have come forward to share their experiences, while Combs’ legal team has also addressed these events through court documents.
What Did Sean Combs’ Team Say About The Freak Offs?
Reports indicate that Freak Offs were gatherings where the host, Sean John, would allegedly put on a show for guests by having young women perform sexually explicit acts. According to some sources, these women were either paid or forced to entertain the crowd in this manner. These events are also said to have been secretly recorded at times. Federal authorities have obtained nine videos from such parties, which they claim serve as proof of the alleged misconduct.
Instead of the footage supporting accusations against Diddy, his legal team claims it demonstrates his innocence by showing private, consensual sexual activity between him and his long-term girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Legal documents suggest this interpretation, with Ventura not only giving her consent but also enjoying the activity, according to TMZ’s report.

A contentious issue has been whether the individual who performed “Show Me Your Soul” personally retained the nine videos. However, his lawyers counter that these videos directly contradict claims that he kept them as leverage. They assert that the videos were neither found on his devices nor seized from his homes during a federal raid in early 2024. Furthermore, they argue that Cassie Ventura had stored these videos on her own device for years and voluntarily provided them to the authorities. Additionally, they suggest that she was an active participant in her private life with him.
Currently age 38, the pop artist and past partner of Puff Daddy was portrayed as “apparently content, assertive, and absolutely in charge” in the music videos. To add, Sean Combs’ camp also declared that there is no trace of any physical abuse, intimidation, threats, or manipulation. As of now, the singer known for “Me & U” has not yet commented on the allegations made against her.
What’s Been Reported About Diddy And Cassie Ventura’s Relationship?
From 2007 to 2018, the singer known as Cassie was in a relationship with P. Diddy. In November 2023, Cassie filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of sexual assault, human trafficking, and violence. Although Diddy denied these allegations, the lawsuit was quickly resolved. However, in March 2024, footage from a 2016 hotel incident was released without warning. This footage showed Diddy physically pushing Cassie to the ground as she tried to leave a room, pulling her shirt, and then throwing an object at her.
Initially, Sean Combs refused to acknowledge the charges in the lawsuit; however, once a hotel video emerged, he issued an apology for his behavior. This apology sparked criticism from Cassie’s legal team and dissatisfaction from Slim Thug and other figures in the hip hop community. The lawsuit filed by Cassie marked the beginning of multiple legal actions against Combs, which were based on allegations of sexual assault and other issues.
Currently, Diddy stands accused by federal authorities for alleged offenses such as sex trafficking, transportation with intent to engage in prostitution, racketeering, arson, and more. At present, he’s detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting his trial. The exact role of the Freak Off videos in this court case remains unclear.
