Raj Babbar’s daughter Juhi Babbar shares at what age father told her about his second wife, Smita Patil; any guesses?

Raj Babbar’s union with Smita Patil, starting in 1982, introduced complexities into his long-standing marriage with Nadira Babbar. Although Raj and Nadira had been together since 1975 and were parents to Juhi and Arya, Smita’s arrival on the scene significantly altered the dynamics of their first marriage. In a recent chat, Juhi Babbar Soni, Raj’s daughter and former actress, disclosed that her father confided in her about his relationship with Smita when she was just seven years old.

During an interview with Lehren TV, Juhi Babbar Soni, who is the daughter of Raj Babbar, disclosed that her father talked to her about his marriage to Smita Patil when she was only seven years old. She went on to say that he had a conversation with her and explained the situation in detail.

In 1974, Raj and Nadira got married, and by 1976, they became parents to a daughter. To further his acting ambitions, he relocated to Mumbai, leaving Nadira with her mother. Later in 1979, his wife followed him to Mumbai, and in 1981, they welcomed their son, Arya, into the family.

In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself entangled in a relationship during the filming of Bheegi Raatein in 1982, which surprisingly disturbed the tranquility of what appeared to be a flawless life for me at that time.

Later on, Raj Babbar disclosed that his initial spouse, Nadira, was remarkably accommodating towards his relationship with Smita. Notably, it was their daughter, Juhi, who developed a strong bond with Smita, frequently spending time in her company.

He mentioned that his initial encounter with her, which took place in Rourkela while filming Bheegi Palken, actually began with conflict, yet it later grew into a profound bond. He also made it clear that his bond with Smita wasn’t born out of issues with Nadira, but rather developed organically.

Sadly, Smita’s marriage to Raj Babbar ended prematurely. Unfortunately, she only lived for 15 days postpartum with their son, Prateik Babbar, as she succumbed to complications that arose during childbirth.
