President Trump’s Inauguration to Include Gavin DeGraw and More, Drawing Fan Backlash

The arrangements for the inauguration ceremonies of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance are becoming clearer now that the main list of events, artists, and guests has been revealed by the organizing committee.

Country music stars Carrie Underwood, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean, Lee Greenwood, Parker McCollum, and Rascal Flatts have been scheduled to perform at various events during Carrie’s upcoming visit to Washington D.C., including inaugural balls and the “Make America Great Again Victory Rally”. Many other country music performances are taking place in and around D.C. this weekend for unofficial inauguration events.

Musician Gavin DeGraw, known for his genre-blending tunes and popular tracks like “I Don’t Want to Be” from his album “Chariot,” will be performing at the Starlight Ball. This event on Monday will also include remarks by President Trump. The announcement of DeGraw’s performance sparked criticism from some of his fans, causing his name to trend on social media platforms like X on Wednesday.

The band known as The Village People announced to their supporters that they will take part in the inauguration. This band, famous for their song “Y.M.C.A.” which has been a significant anthem for the LGBTQ community and often played at Trump’s rallies, made this announcement on Monday via Facebook. They stated, “We understand that some of you might not be pleased by this news, but we feel that music should be performed without political bias.” The band is scheduled to perform at two events, including the MAGA Victory Rally and the Liberty Ball. The band’s statement continued, “Our song ‘Y.M.C.A.’ is a universally recognized anthem that perhaps can help unite the country following a contentious and divisive election campaign where our favored candidate was not victorious.” (This part refers to their support for the defeated Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, who is now the vice president.)

Another individual, known as Kid Rock, has been consistently backing Trump for a long time. During Trump’s campaign, Kid Rock often appeared, playing “God Bless the USA” at various events. Regarding his upcoming visit to Washington D.C., this veteran singer expressed eagerness, stating he can hardly wait to perform alongside the U.S. Marine Corps band on the stage of the U.S. Capitol before the president takes his oath. “Apparently, America adores him, as evident by his election,” Kid Rock commented during an interview with Fox & Friends.

During the 60th Inauguration, President Trump will make his victorious return to the White House, marking the beginning of what he calls the ‘great American comeback.’ This significant event will pay tribute to our nation’s illustrious history and cherished traditions, honoring the American people and the bright future that lies ahead for generations to come. We are excited to join you in Washington D.C., as we prepare to welcome a new period of prosperity, power, and practicality in the Oval Office,” said Trump’s inauguration committee co-chairs Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler in a joint statement.
