This epic tale encompassing love, life, death, and destiny unfolds over different continents and time periods. Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Kalman Apple (Speed for Thespians) is the mastermind behind this script, based on an original story by Cyriaque (Seasons of a Soul)). Filming will kick off in fall 2025 across locations in New York, London, Vancouver, and Nepal.

The narrative unfolds around a pair who were meant to be in love yet were separated by malicious schemes. Over the course of a century, they embark on a journey spanning multiple lives, ultimately reuniting.

Discussions are underway with two well-known Hollywood actors, as well as additional talented individuals from Japan, who plan to collaborate with Canadian singer-songwriter Kreesha Turner.

Cyriaque says he has been “nurturing the dream of Seasons for ten unforgettable years.”

Cyriaque shared with The Hollywood Reporter how a tiny idea ignited in his mind led him on an incredible adventure through the colorful streets of London, the peaceful scenery of Japan, and the majestic vistas of Nepal,” stated Cyriaque.

Reflecting the international cast, Seasons will fuse English and Japanese.

Cyriaque, who is originally from Haiti, shared that their interactions with loved ones often involve a lively blend of English and Creole. This rhythm is deeply ingrained in their life. Reflecting this diversity, they decided to imbue the narrative of Seasons with a similar multilingual essence. In the tale, dialogue moves fluidly between English and Japanese, sometimes starting in one language and transitioning into another. This reflects the authenticity of genuine connections – where words, cultures, and feelings intertwine,” said Cyriaque.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the multitalented Motola (known for her roles in “Ice Cream Fever” and “Voices in the Wind”) will bring Eiko to life. Eiko is a young woman who dares to break free from her family’s traditional expectations in Japan, only to find herself ensnared in a complex romantic tangle in the bustling city of New York.

“Eiko is fascinating, and I can’t wait to add my vision to the character,” said Motola.

As a devoted admirer, I find myself vying for Eiko’s heart, a role skillfully brought to life by the talented Matsudo, recognized for his exceptional performances in ‘The Flash’ and ‘The Man in the High Castle’.

Matsudo considers his character as a close companion, and he deeply admires the ideals his character embodies in New York City. He feels fortunate to be involved in such an exceptional tale and is excited to collaborate with these outstanding artists,” stated Matsudo.

Shirakawa stated, “The title ‘Seasons‘ implies a portrayal of the cycles of life and the phases of the soul. I am convinced that the themes of personal decisions and interpersonal relationships, experiences shared by all, will undoubtedly strike a chord with viewers.

A long-time fan of Japanese movies, Cyriaque acknowledges the influence on his filmmaking.

Japan has a special place in my heart, particularly Japanese cinema. The tales told in films like ‘Drive My Car’ by Ryusuke Hamaguchi and ‘Her Love Boils Bathwater’ by Ryota Nakano have deeply moved me with their storytelling prowess. However, it’s the world of Japanese horror that truly exhilarates me – the eerie suspense of ‘Audition’ directed by Takashi Miike, the psychological exploration in ‘Cure,’ also by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and the chilling excitement of ‘Suicide Club’ from Sion Sono are memories I’ll carry with me forever,” Cyriaque mentioned.

The director praises the efforts of Tokyo-based producer Ivan Collazo and Kosei James Ono, who played a key role in securing the Japanese cast for the film, including their appearance in Seasons.

The seasons are being created by a team consisting of Meosha Davis, Cordero Sinclair, Jamar Atkinson, Joel Quinones, and Joseph Philippe (also known as Joey MHZ).
