Charlie Cox Confirms ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Filming Soon

Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Charlie Cox recently shared some thrilling updates about the upcoming season of his Disney+ show, casually announcing that production for Season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again” will kick off much sooner than anticipated. During a lively panel at FAN EXPO San Francisco, where he joined forces with his “Daredevil” co-star Wilson Bethel, Cox disclosed that not only is the second season in the works, but filming will commence before the first season has even hit our screens.

“We haven’t produced any new Daredevil content in quite some time, but I’m thrilled about the upcoming release! In fact, as we’re set to debut [Born Again] on March 4th, we’ll already be in production for season 2. So, it’s like a continuous stream of excitement, truly!”

Reviving Daredevil for Disney+ after its termination on Netflix has turned out to be a trickier endeavor than expected. When Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige wasn’t satisfied with the project’s progress, nearly everyone was let go and the series was put through a rethink. Initially planned as a 18-episode first season for Daredevil: Born Again, the changes made brought the number of episodes down to a more standard nine. With Season 2 undoubtedly incorporating some concepts initially intended for the second half of Season 1, it’s reassuring to know that we can look forward to further Daredevil adventures.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Debut on Disney+ on March 4, 2025

As a passionate cinephile, I couldn’t contain my excitement when the first, jaw-dropping trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again” was finally unveiled! The footage solidifies whispers that the narrative will draw from the comic book storyline “Mayor Fisk,” where New York City succumbs to Kingpin’s grip as he assumes office as its mayor. Throughout the series, we’ll witness Matt Murdock finding employment under Kingpin, who manipulates his skill for deceit and philanthropy to wage a relentless battle against masked crusaders like himself.

The series might significantly alter certain aspects of the plot, but it’s unlikely to modify how Matt Murdock handles his business when donning the red costume on the streets. Expect plenty of blood, broken bones, and intense yells as Daredevil dispatches criminals in gruesome ways, which could signal a shift for Marvel and Disney+ productions. Additionally, this should set the stage nicely for the upcoming season of Punisher.

Daredevil Returns: Reborn” introduces several familiar figures for this inaugural escapade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The series features Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio’s portrayal of Wilson Fisk, better known as The Kingpin. Other characters include Jon Bernthal playing Frank Castle, known by his alias The Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, and Wilson Bethel portraying Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, aka Bullseye. Additionally, the cast includes Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, and Genneya Walton. “Daredevil Returns: Reborn” is set to debut on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, as part of Phase Five within the MCU.
