Harrison Ford‘s portrayal of Han Solo in Star Wars is undeniably legendary, but the actor has consistently expressed his desire not to be solely identified with his performances in these iconic films. Over time, Ford has cultivated an image of being somewhat reticent when it comes to discussing the franchise (given that his character met its end a decade ago). However, surprisingly, he recently referenced Star Wars unintentionally for an entirely different purpose, and this has sparked renewed interest.
Over the past few years, Harrison Ford has been featured in the cast of the series “Shrinking,” a show that can be streamed by those with an Apple TV+ subscription. During an interview for a Los Angeles Times article focusing on his co-star, Jessica Williams, this is what he said:
She understands humor well and rarely needs to discuss it. In many ways, she reminds me of Yoda: ‘Do or do not; there is no try.’ Her ideas have expanded my creativity.
Look at Harrison Ford casually chatting about Yoda! The 82-year-old actor made these remarks during a phone conversation with the media outlet, expressing admiration for Jessica Williams’ improvisational skills on set. It’s always fascinating to hear such words, but coming from Han Solo himself? When this part of the interview was discussed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Williams shared her response, saying:
Harrison Ford is talking about Yoda in a laid-back manner! The 82-year-old actor said these things while chatting with the media on the phone and praising Jessica Williams for her improvisation. It’s always interesting to hear such words, but coming from Han Solo himself? When this part of the interview was talked about on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Williams shared her response:
He hates talking about it so much that I could not believe that he, like, volunteered it.
Among the countless memorable lines from the Star Wars saga, Yoda’s phrases have become truly iconic. You often hear people quoting Yoda, but it’s fascinating to know that Harrison Ford, who was a part of the original movies, actually encountered the character in real life.

According to legend, the actor landed the role of Han Solo while working as a carpenter for Francis Ford Coppola. This might seem like something straight out of a fairy tale, and undoubtedly it was. However, Ford once deemed Han Solo as a one-dimensional character. When asked about his fondest memory from the franchise in 2020, he mentioned the “overwhelming disrespect” he encountered on set.
It seems that he adores collaborating with Jessica Williams so deeply that he thought if he was going to gain widespread attention for something related to _Star Wars_, it would be by expressing all the positive remarks about his co-star. Regardless, the actress was extremely thankful for his compliments and simply amazed by how much of a “legend” he is. The actress remembered a few instances during filming when his character, Han Solo, just seemed to shine effortlessly without her even trying.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that not only do we have the ongoing two seasons of our favorite series to enjoy, but there’s more exciting news on the horizon! Get ready for another season of “Shrinking”, and don’t forget to mark your calendars for February 14th, when you’ll see Ford in “Captain America: Brave New World” gracing the silver screen.
