Porsche Design and Honor Announce the Magic7 RSR

Honor and Porsche Design have debuted their newest collaboration creation, introducing the PORSCHE DESIGN HONOR Magic7 RSR smartphone, also known as the Magic7 RSR. The release date for this model has been scheduled for the beginning of 2025.

The upgraded version of Honor’s top-tier Magic7 Pro smartphone, known as Magic7 RSR, is a luxurious reimagining of our previous collaboration. This is the third time these brands have teamed up, following the Magic V2 RSR from last year. In 2025, this device emphasizes artificial intelligence (AI), with Honor stating that their new phone signifies a significant advancement in AI-enhanced mobile technology.

The philosophy of the Porsche RSR (RennSport Rennwagen, or racing sport racing car in English), is evident throughout every aspect of the new Magic7 RSR. It embodies many design elements from the renowned German luxury car manufacturer, such as the hexagonal camera module, inspired by high-performance components, and the aerodynamic characteristics, inspired by Porsche’s Taycan Turbo S. The arrangement of the three rear cameras and the “Matrix Camera” graphic, lined up together, are reminiscent of a sports car’s symmetrically positioned headlights.

The Magic7 RSR is fueled by Qualcomm’s top-tier Android processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite Mobile Platform, which includes a robust Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This allows the device to handle AI tasks directly. Honor introduces the Magic7 RSR with their latest iteration of Android, MagicOS 9.0, pre-installed, and AI is integrated across the entire system. Honor labels it as an “innovative, personalized AI operating system for all scenarios” and several features revolve around the new “Magic Portal” interface, providing users easy access to various AI functions in one place. As an extra AI feature, the phone also includes Google’s new Gemini assistant upon launch.

Honor consistently highlights the high-quality cameras in its phones, such as the cameras in the 200 Series from Studio Harcourt last year. The Magic7 RSR boasts an impressive triple rear camera system: this includes a 50MP “Super Dynamic Falcon” main camera, a 200MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP wide camera. Honor is especially excited about its 200MP telephoto camera, which it claims has the largest f/1.88 telephoto aperture in the industry, offering performance comparable to professional telephoto lenses due to its 1/1.4″ sensor. The phone also offers a variety of AI-enhanced photography tools such as “All-scenario Harcourt Portrait,” developed with Studio Harcourt Paris, “AI Enhanced Portrait,” “AI Super Zoom,” “Stage Mode,” “AI Motion Sensing Capture,” and “HD Super Burst.

This phone boasts a 6.8-inch screen and is equipped with various technologies to enhance visual comfort for users, such as a true-to-life color display and hardware-level low blue light technology – not just simulated in software. In terms of sound, the Magic7 RSR showcases Honor’s “HONOR Surround Subwoofer” stereo speaker system, providing spatial audio and deep bass for an immersive listening experience.

The PORSCHE DESIGN HONOR Magic7 RSR will hit the market in two distinct color schemes: the timelessly iconic “Agate Grey”, a staple from Porsche, and a freshly created purple shade named “Provence”.
