Sebastian Maniscalco Is Getting Older (and Better)

Sebastian Maniscalco is falling apart.

Despite being 51 years old, the comedian acknowledges that his physical condition is not as it once was. However, he continues to act and mimic in a manner characteristic of younger generations, much like someone from the Millennial demographic.

On Sunday, the popular performer known as “Bookie” brought his “It Ain’t Right” tour to Denver Ball Arena. His performance was filled with humor and honesty about his health struggles, yet it remained engaging without a single dull moment. Recently, his Netflix special titled “Is It Me?” has received some criticism for slightly diminishing the relatable charm that made him popular.

The humor wasn’t as crisp, and the marital issues seemed less familiar. Fame can have a harsh impact on comedians who rely on personal observations.

Dontcha hate it when the service is sub-standard in first class?

In his recent performance, Maniscalco returned to a relatable style of humor. He discussed topics such as parenthood, marriage, dating, among others, delving into personal experiences throughout.

Very few bits missed, and his only miscues came with stories that lacked a tidy ending.

He initially discussed a short trip he took out of Los Angeles amidst the fiercely burning wildfires. Without a doubt, it was sensitive subject matter, yet he managed to maintain a humorous focus on his peculiar quirks.

Smart.

The comedian structured his hour-long act as a reflection on the year 2024, which provided him ample storytelling opportunities to traverse various cultural topics. He referenced diverse subjects such as the athletically endowed Olympic pole vaulter and the popular show “Love is Blind.” Each segment showcased his unique physical comedy style.

No, it hasn’t gotten old. Not even close.

He briefly discussed the shift in generations (“do you recall handwriting?”) and pointed out that the current generation seems to lack the resilience shown by their forebears. During his performance, he incorporated some impromptu humor from the audience, but largely adhered to his prepared material throughout the evening.

Maniscalco appears to be in good shape, but he claims that his navel moved on its own and he injured a bicep while performing an action he’s unsure of yet. His recent bedtime routines have become embarrassing, often disrupting any tender moments he might desire with his wife Lana.

Humorous insights that provide distinctive perspectives, distinguishing them from countless other comedic views on marriage.

Instead of delving into political matters, as is common with comedy, he made a reference to Elon Musk, commending him for his achievements and intellectual prowess.

And, for those who reflexively boo billionaires he had a simple message.

“He didn’t take [the money] from you.”

Two powerful introductions illuminated the evening. Comedian Pat McGann shared a swift performance focusing on parenthood, delivering sharp jokes that linked to today’s teenagers and societal transformations. Meanwhile, Pete Correale, who partners with Maniscalco on “The Pete and Sebastian Show,” hilariously explored the topic of marriage in his opening act.

One complaint?

The evening might have concluded with the duo sharing the stage, a sight that “The ‘cast’s” followers would have enjoyed. Fingers crossed for the future.
