Lynn Ban, jewelry designer and star of Netflix‘s Bling Empire, has died. She was 51.
Sebastian, the son of the ban, announced on his mother’s Instagram on Wednesday that she had passed away earlier this week, after undergoing emergency brain surgery following a skiing accident in late December.

On December 30th, I shared that I took a tumble while skiing in Aspen on Christmas Eve. At the mountain peak, I lost my balance and ended up flat on my face. Fortunately, I’m always helmet-clad, so it didn’t seem too severe at the moment, and I managed to ski down to the bottom.
Choosing a more cautious approach, she shared that she sought examination from ski patrol due to suspicion of a concussion and was given the all-clear. However, later on, she underwent a CAT scan at the hospital where she was informed about a brain hemorrhage. “I rode in a taxi with Jett, and within half an hour they told us I had a brain bleed and required immediate airlifting to the trauma hospital,” she recounted. “The last thing I can recall is being intubated, waking up after an emergency craniotomy with Jett by my bedside.
Lynn Ban, proprietor of Lynn Ban Jewelry, has been a recurring character on the popular Netflix series Bling Empire and its spinoff Bling Empire: New York , which focuses on a group of wealthy Asian-American residents in the city showcasing their opulent lifestyles. Notably, her jewelry has graced the bodies of celebrities such as Rihanna and Beyoncé.
The Barbadian singer responded to Sebastian’s post by saying: “2025 is overwhelming me now! This is too much!!! Lynn, you will forever be our guardian angel! I’ll love you eternally and always! I can hardly believe I’m writing this in a comment section right now,” accompanied by a crying emoji, “Thank you for all the happiness you brought us!
