After a brief hiatus in 2024, the most epic movie franchise ever created, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to make a grand comeback with an impressive lineup of three movies slated for release in 2025. The larger MCU narrative seems poised to unfold at breakneck speed, leading us towards the next monumental crossover film, “Avengers: Doomsday.” With less than a year-and-a-half until its premiere, the anticipation is palpable!

As for the storyline of that upcoming movie, it’s quite a mystery to me. What I do know is that Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Doctor Doom. An intriguing speculation hints at the possibility of Chris Evans and Captain America making a comeback, and how this could connect with Avengers: Endgame. Intrigued to find out more!

Did Captain America Bring About Doctor Doom?

One thing is certain about the upcoming film “Fantastic Four: The First Steps”: it will initially unfold in a universe distinct from the Marvel Cinematic Universe we’re familiar with, possibly offering an alternate take. There’s a strong possibility, although not yet verified, that Robert Downey Jr.’s character, Doctor Doom, could make his debut in this movie as well, given his significant past connection with the Fantastic Four.

The idea being tossed around on Reddit implies that “Avengers: Doomsday” could take place in an alternate universe, given that the timeline was altered when Steve Rogers went back in time, retrieved the Infinity Stones, and spent his later years with Peggy Carter. Since he inadvertently shattered reality, it seems that Captain America must now repair it, which will account for Chris Evans’ return as the character.

If Rumors Turn Out To Be True, It’s Not A Bad Theory

This theory is interesting, but it relies heavily on information that hasn’t been verified yet for it to hold true. Although Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback has been confirmed, Chris Evans’ rumored return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains unsubstantiated. If he does indeed rejoin, the rumors don’t guarantee he’ll be resuming his role as Captain America.
